The Thermomix bowl... Is it big enough?

This is a question that I've been asked a few times lately and it was an objection for me 6 years ago when purchasing my first Thermomix.

I've outlined all of the reasons why I've never wished for a bigger bowl since owning a Thermomix in this video... And why I think a bigger bowl would actually be combusom and not very convenient.

Choo Choo Train part 2!

We've made the icing and started assembling!

I've enlisted recruits. I'm also making hidden veg sausage rolls, fresh focaccia and the girls are doing mini pizzas (MYO style).

Stay tuned for the finished 🚃!

Cup of ☕ and a bickie anyone?

The texture of these is 👌.

Saw 'oatmeal raisin cookies' in a cafe the other day... Kicked off a craving... Couldn't justify $5.50 a biscuit so I came home and found the cookidoo version 👏.

There's just something nice about a biscuit with your tea in the mid afternoon sunshine. Do you have a favourite?

Seriously this tummy bug has been through us all now so it was the perfect night for some healing soup - one of my favs, 'Hug in a Mug chicken soup.'

I make a few variations to this:
-I double the vegetables
-pop it on reverse for 5 seconds speed 4 at the end and then
-add 50g of vermicelli noodles because it's more appealing with noodles for the kids.

I made a fresh loaf of rye to go on the side.

What's your go to when you need something simple and nourishing?

Update on the epic choo choo Train cake...

We got hit with 'tha gastro bug' late last week so my daughter's birthday party has been postponed till next Sunday.

Cakes are done.
Icing is next.
It's the assembly and decorating I'm worried about 🤞.

Who has made the women's weekly train cake? Or any of their children's cakes, they are all epic?

All smiles at last now, just in time for 📚 week!

Do you use a fruit and veg delivery service?

I've tried a few different ones and I've always been happy. I've just started using Funky Food and I love my first box. I especially love that they include lots of the basics - onion, garlic and ginger because I use a lot of those!

The best thing about a delivery service like this (especially when you are happy to 'get what you get') is that it forces you to be creative and utilise what you have.

I had a lot of cabbage so I searched by ingredient and cookidoo and found a new salad - it's delicious. And I did the kids favourite with some cauliflower - cauliflower macaroni cheese. It's such a clever dish because the cauliflower is blended smoothly into the sauce, you don't even know it's there.

I also roasted up a whole heap of pumpkin to add to salads during the week ahead.

Did you get into the kitchen today? I kept it simple and fresh today - the weather is warming up so it felt fitting.

Time-poor… but curious? 👀

Not everyone has the time (or inclination!) for an in-home Thermomix demonstration. But I know so many people would love to see how a Thermomix could actually give them some of that precious time back.

So, I’ve just popped my quickest virtual demonstration ever onto YouTube — and I’m pretty sure it comes in at under 15 minutes! 🙌

I was a little pushed for time myself because my youngest was under the weather and just wanted cuddles… so you’ll even see me doing part of the demonstration one-handed. 😂❤️

It’s a great little glimpse into the reality of Thermomix and what it can actually allow you to do:
✨ Cook one-handed when you need to
✨ Follow guided recipes that even a 5-year-old can manage
✨ Get precise, consistent results
✨ And, most importantly, save time

If you’ve ever been curious but thought, “I just don’t have time for a demo,” this one might be for you!

I’ll pop the link to the video in the comments. 👇

Have a wonderful weekend! ❤️

We've been playing a lot of musical beds of late.

My husband and I aren't enjoying it quite as much as the girls are... Or the dog for that matter. When we move, he moves!

But it's nice to wake up and have thermi make me something warm and nourishing. Porridge mornings will be gone soon! My favourite time of day is genuinely just before the sun comes up when the birds start to sing... I'm always the first up even after a rough night.
And the rest of the porridge can sit in the Thermomix for when the family surfaces for the day.

What's your go to Thermomix breakfast when you feel like you need a big warm 🤗?

Do you remember the women's weekly 'train cake?'

Who doesn't?

When I saw it was in cookidoo I opened my big mouth way to fast and asked my eldest if she'd like it for her birthday cake....

Now I'm usually the mum who bakes the cakes from scratch but then does a 'do it yourself decorations' station and gets all the kids involved.

I love to cook... I'm not really that into presentation if I'm being honest. I REALLY wish I'd read the assembly instructions prior to suggesting this but I did not and who would say no to this as a 🎂 cake??

So here we are. We have completed the baking stage. Next will be the cutting and assembly stage and then the decoration stage. I'm hopeful my husband will step in as he is the detailed component of our team, I am much more the 'boh picture' kind of half. I'm intrigued to see whether I have the patience to pull this off to resemble any kind of locomotive to be honest. Watch this space!

On a positive note, the cake itself is beautiful. It uses the butterfly whisk for most of the mixing and the batter was so buttery and airy I know it will be delicious.

The gathering is sunday so you won't have to wait long to see the end product... Unless it's really bad 🤔😂.

Have you made this one before and if so... Words of wisdom?

Katie
