hello!! mildly disappeared after my exams but don’t say i didn’t warn ya 🙃 anyways i am knitting a thing! hooray! my fatigue’s been 💥 the last couple months so i feel like i barely knit or watched anything all semester. so in celebration of the fact i’ve actually been doing things the last two weeks, here’s a summary that no one asked for ✨

- watched Dying for S*x (amazing but oh my this was a lot emotionally 🫠)
- rewatched Heartstopper (no one is surprised)
- rewatched the X-Men films (basically happens annually)
- watched Invisible Boys (loveddddd it!! the aussie accents and constant use of c**t was so refreshing 🙂‍↕️)
- watching s3 of Yellowjackets (i thought this couldn’t get more unhinged lmao)
- reading Circe by Madeline Miller (so so good)

✨ wool expo 2025 ✨

thank you so much to everyone who came by my stall this year! it was so nice to see familiar faces and chat to everyone 🥰

i’m in my final week of classes for this semester of uni, and then i’ve got exams in early/mid june, so i may disappear a little on here again! but hopefully not for as long as i did last year 😅

i’m also working out when to do my next pre order collection (hello sea of monsters 👀) so it lines up well with uni breaks. i’m leaning towards sometime next year, so i can use the rest of this year to set up my own website with in stock items. the stitch markers were really manageable for me energy-wise with chronic health issues, so i’m keen to keep making those! i also plan to test out the new bases you helped me decide on over the weekend 🥰 i’m sure that will produce some one off batches that can go online too.

in summary i’m not not doing things, i’m just doing them slowly 🙃 i’m especially grateful that people stick around even when my posting/dyeing sorta comes in waves 🖤 x

only 3 weeks to go until this year’s Canberra Wool Expo! (technically slightly less as i meant to post this on the weekend but we’ll just pretend)
this will be my fourth year at this event which is wild 😳 i’ll have a couple new items i’m excited to be stocking, lots of stitch markers and yarn of course ☺️ hopefully i’ll see you there!

day one of the Canberra wool expo is complete! ready for day two TODAY at 9:30-2:30 🌟

i think it might be my best stall set up yet !!? like hello how tf did i have so much yarn and still be worrying the stall would look empty?! i literally have twice as much yarn as i’ve ever had at a market before 😶 and there is A LOT of percy jackson overflow if you missed the pre-order 👀

plus alllll the new bases and minis. there might even be ONE full set of 8ply minis with every Lightning Thief colour still available 🙊🚨 if i were u, i’d be sprinting to my stall this morning to nab the little guys and protect them like my firstborn child (Seb obv). anyone saying i’m biased can zip it and go sit in a boring corner WITHOUT Percy Jackson minis 😤

🌟 PIE DAY IS LIVE 🌟

This limited-edition sock set is inspired by a boysenberry cobbler, alongside the myth about the nymph, Ida, who turned the once-white raspberries into a vibrant red with her blood 👀 link to my etsy is in my bio.

Each set includes a 100g variegated skein and a 25g mini skein, both on my non-superwash high twist merino sock base. The main colour has shades of plum, mauve, raspberry pink with splashes of pale apricot (the crumble part!) and cool-toned sage-green sections where the colours mix. The mini skein is a semisolid rosey-light-raspbery pink.

This sock set was dyed as part of 👀 make sure you have a scroll through the hashtag on Instagram to see the amazing dyers who also participated this year!

soooo some of the variegated skeins came out quite different to the others but i didn’t have time to re-do them 🥲 the listing lets you pick which one you like.
- 8 skeins show the main way this colour dyes, noted in the listing as ‘Main dyelot’ (first 3 pictures).
- 3 skeins don’t have the pale apricot-coloured sections, noted as ‘Dark purple seconds’ (4th picture).
- 1 skein doesn’t have the raspberry pink sections, noted as ‘Missing pink seconds’ (5th picture).

These sets are ready-to-ship and probably won’t look exactly like this if i ever dye them again 🙃

🥧 PI(E) DAY 🥧

YAYYAY i’m participating in this amazing annual dyeing tradition for the first time this year. this limited edition and exclusive sock set will be inspired by a certain pie flavour 👀 and will go live as a ready to ship update on my Etsy shop on 14 March at 11am AEDT. there will only be 12 sock sets available so make sure you get on quick! as i’ll be too busy dyeing up Percy Jackson orders to have this as a pre-order. make sure you also check out the other tagged dyers who will be offering wonderful pie-themed yarny creations! x

🐈 BOUCLE MINI SWATCHES 🐈

special thanks to my muse and model, Sebastian.

i’ve been going back and forth on what to make with my boucle so i thought i’d do up some little swatches to show both colours and the different tensions. keep in mind you might need different needle sizes to me to achieve the same tension. but this is a nice way to feel what the fabric would be like if you made a bigger piece at a particular gauge :) i’ve settled on which knits to 14.5sts, so i’m using 5mm needles and will block it to get the extra half stitch.

l-r/bottom to top (starts with pink):
- lotus hotel and casino at 16sts/10cm (4.5mm needles; pretty dense)
- no such thing as blue food at 14sts/10cm (5mm needles; squishy)
- aunty em’s garden gnome emporium at 13.5sts/10cm (5.5mm needles; squishy but marginally flatter)
- betrayal at 13sts/10cm (6mm needles; less squish but soft and slightly drapey - i’d say this is a nice middle ground)
- minotaur at 12sts/10cm (6.5mm needles; drapey with some separation between stitches when stretched, so i’d avoid things like a fitted sweater that stretches when worn - great for cowls as an example tho)
