It's a public holiday today so we've been busy packing in as much family time as we can before school goes back next week. My goal for tonight was to get these jewel shapes tacked and ready for piecing. But they were such an easy shape to do that I managed to get all 78 jewel pieces tracked and pieced together. Next step hexies.

Cutting out all the pieces for the from the Dec/Jan 2024 magazine. The pattern was designed by and can be found on page 32-38.
I was looking for an pattern to keep my fingers busy during dr visits and the humdrum of waiting rooms, I think this pattern's various shapes along with the used by the designer in the sample project tick all my epp project wish lists. I have some I brought while in and I'm thinking of using some of those along with coloured sashiko threads.
Next step picking 18 Japanese fabric from my fat quarters... Picking colours is always the hardest, especially when using fabrics that hold a special meaning, memory or umm... price tag. Hehehe. I need to stop buying pretty or specialty craft supplies and trying to keep them for a perfect project but being too scared of using them and possibly wasting them.

I feel like I'm playing with and I'm almost finished the 3rd skien. I'm soooo close I hope I don't have to duck into , I'm too weak to go in and just get one more skein. I'm almost certain my main hobby isn't crafting but collecting craft supplies, hehe.
I'm considering not clipping the top lip turkey stitch as I think the textural difference is pretty, any suggestions?

I've still got a few baubles left, I think I've made it a bit of a personal mission to get rid of them one personalised bauble at a time. Hehe.
