How it started and how it’s going…

Today is Thanksgiving back in Canada, and it’s got me looking back on this wild journey feeling so incredibly thankful for this community and all of the support we’ve gotten from you all!

I went from applying for jobs while trying to book every photography gig I could to pay the bills to spending my days making lamps non-stop, but learning and getting to experience what this city means to each and every one of you. All from a single idea at 10:57am on April 7th 🚌💡

So thank you, really, for all the support and love we’ve been so fortunate to receive over the last six months🫶🏼

And after today, we’re going to make lamps available for purchase as we finish making them throughout the week. So no more Monday restock alarms needed!

I keep waiting for us to find our rhythm with rose lamps, but the world of small business seems to think we need more *learning opportunities* 😅

Last week was a rollercoaster! From the highs of selling out 100 lamps in 10 minutes, having our lamps available around the city and selling before we’ve even left the shop, to the lows of realising everything went wrong and we are running out of parts and materials.

Heck, I didn’t even mention the fact that we did deliveries all around Canberra, only to forget an order going to Cook, so we had to drive an hour round trip the next day since shipping would have taken too long (by our standards) 🤦🏻‍♂️

But you can bet we are going to triple check all of our settings before we launch today! 😅

For everyone asking how to get their hands on the original Canberra Bus Shelter Lamp, here’s how! 🚌💡

Every Monday at 12pm AEST (Canberra time), we are going to drop a batch of lamps on our website. No more preorders! Whatever we can make in the week before will be available, meaning if you place an order, your lamp will ship within 48 hours. 📦💨

If you want a reminder, you can sign up for stock notifications on the product page, linked in our bio, so you never miss a drop!

Stay tuned for information on when lamps will be available at our stockists across the city!

PREORDERS ARE DONE! 😱 That’s right, we just finished making 1305 Canberra Bus Shelter Lamps! 🚌💡

It’s been a gruelling four months, but what’s a little carpal tunnel for some wonderful Canberrans?😅

Thank you all for your patience (except the people that asked for refunds😜) while we worked through the overwhelming amount of lamp making and admin involved. The love we got was WILD and kept us going through the late nights and 7 day work weeks.

This means that after taking a few days off to recover, we’re going to start making lamps that will be ready to ship as soon as they’re ordered! So that means no more waiting when you place an order!👌🏼

Stay tuned for more info on when we’re opening orders again! We will be posting all the details very soon 👀

Also, we’re so excited to announce that we are now stocked at the National Museum of Australia! It was on our list of shops to reach out to this year, but one day they popped up in our inbox! 😍 so if you’re at the museum, swing by the Museum Shop to pick up an assortment of our goodies and other amazing items!

Let me first start by apologising to the German community 😅

We are so close to the end of the Canberra Bus Shelter Lamp preorders, we can taste it! 1100 lamps made and “just” 200 to go!

We’re up to order #2438! 😱

I thought I was being funny saying I’d finish the preorders in 2.5 weeks, but I think we actually might? 😅 This whole project, we’ve somehow managed to hit every single timeline we projected and I don’t know how we did it.

Sorry for getting all sappy, but I’m just trying to share that we are so emotionally invested in this product. After four months of doing just this, it’s not about money or success, we just want everyone to love their lamp that we’ve been working so hard on getting out there. 🥹

Finally on Friday, I’ll be hanging out at Food. Community. Local. at their Father’s Day event! Come see me and chat about our products and pick up some goodies for all the daddy’s out there!

PS I call tomato sauce ketchup, for those that didn’t *catch* my brilliant Canadian humour😉
