✨ Ganesha, Handlooms, and Heritage: Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi Abroad ✨(late post)
Living across borders and raising the next generation away from our roots is a beautiful challenge.
Many of us Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) left our motherland in pursuit of new opportunities, but we never truly left our traditional values, our vibrant festivals, or our identity behind. Our true motherland travels with us, safely tucked within our hearts. ❤️
This Ganesh Chaturthi, my heart felt incredibly full and cherished. There is an indescribable joy in watching my little one embrace the very things that defined my own childhood. Hearing him welcome Bappa with the same bhajans I grew up listening to, and seeing him proudly wear traditional attire, fills me with so much gratitude. 🕉️🙏✨
For this auspicious occasion, I chose a piece of pure heritage from my personal collection: a breathtaking, royal purple Pure Katan Silk Saree straight from the heart of Banaras. The intricate zari craftsmanship, the rich texture, and the timeless paisley motifs make it feel like wearing a piece of home.
And standing next to me is my biggest pride—my little bub, celebrating in a traditional kurta-jacket set designed entirely by me! 🧵💜
Welcoming Bappa, passing on the legacy, and creating memories—one drape and one melody at a time. 🌸
