HONOURING THE HIDDEN SERVICE | AUSTRALIAN WAR MEMORIAL

Tomorrow evening, representatives from Blackhawk Logistics will attend the inaugural Honouring the Hidden Service Gala Dinner at the Australian War Memorial.
Hosted by Partners of Veterans Australia, this important occasion recognises the often-unseen contributions, resilience and sacrifices of the partners, spouses, children and families who stand alongside Australia’s serving personnel and veterans.
The evening brings together members of the Defence and veteran communities, government and industry to acknowledge the vital role families play throughout military service, deployment, recovery and transition.
Blackhawk Logistics is pleased to be attending and to join others in recognising those whose support and sacrifices deserve our collective appreciation.

Having supported the Canberra Writers Festival for several years, we are delighted to continue our longstanding relationship with an event that brings together some of Australia's and the world's most respected authors, journalists, thinkers and storytellers.

🎉 Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2026, this year's festival embraces the theme "For the Love of Books", featuring more than 200 artists across over 100 events throughout Canberra.

From fascinating author conversations and panel discussions to literary debates, book launches, creative workshops and children's activities, the festival celebrates the power of storytelling, the exchange of ideas and the importance of literature in our community.

The Blackhawk Logistics team will once again be working alongside festival organisers and Visabel event staff throughout the four-day program, helping deliver another successful festival.

Blackhawk Logistics is proud to once again be supporting ANUSA and The Australian National University, providing security services for ANU After Hours on Saturday, 17 October 2026.

Celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the Australian National University, After Hours will bring together students, staff, alumni and the wider Canberra community for a huge outdoor live music event featuring Australian music right in the heart of ANU.

At Blackhawk Logistics, we are proud to stand alongside Defence veterans and recognise the depth of experience they bring to our industry.

We are privileged to work with Alex, who brings more than 20 years of operational, technical and leadership experience supporting Defence and the veteran community.

Alex began his military career with the Royal Australian Artillery, progressing from Gunner to Detachment Commander before deploying to Timor Leste.

He later transitioned into Special Forces as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC), completing multiple operational deployments to the Middle East in support of Special Operations Task Groups.

Beyond his operational service, Alex has led JTAC training and certification, represented Defence in multinational programs, and continues his involvement with the veteran community as an Invictus Games competitor and adaptive sports coach.

Today, Alex brings that extensive operational experience into Defence industry, working across capability, compliance and program delivery with Blackhawk Logistics.

His professionalism, operational expertise and commitment to supporting others reflect the values and culture we continue to build at Blackhawk Logistics.

As a Defence-focused consultancy, we remain committed to recognising service, supporting veterans, and creating meaningful long-term opportunities for ex-serving Defence personnel to continue contributing beyond military service.

🔐 NV2 CLEARED – GOVERNMENT ESCORTING WORK | CANBERRA

Blackhawk Logistics is seeking additional personnel for an upcoming 8–12 week Government escorting role in Canberra.

This opportunity may suit:

• Security officers looking for additional Monday–Friday work
• Recently departed Australian Public Service or Defence personnel who still hold a current NV2 clearance
• Other suitably experienced personnel with an active NV2 security clearance

Requirements:

✅ Current NV2 Security Clearance – essential
✅ Own reliable vehicle and ability to travel to the work location
✅ Available Monday to Friday
✅ Reliable, professional and well presented
✅ Able to commit to the required 8–12 week period
✅ Ability to follow Government site security and escorting requirements

This is a short-term Government escorting assignment with Blackhawk Logistics and may be ideal for someone between roles, recently retired or separated from Government service, or looking for additional work.

Please note: Applicants who do not currently hold the required NV2 clearance cannot be considered for this particular role.
