Howdy crafty peeps!

I've always tried to be open and honest with you all because I've felt your continued support deserves that from me. Things are challenging right now and I'm probably in for the fight of my life to keep going, but I desperately want to! Global pressures, financial constraints and economic challenges are making life tough for everyone and I'm no exception.

This year I've focused less on bringing in new product and more on trying to create experiences and community that help brings us together. Coming together to craft, create and chat has been such a vital part of the support and strength that keeps me going and I want the Cottage to be a place where you too can escape the pressures and stresses of the world for a few hours. Escapism is vital!

Over the coming weeks I've got a few events and classes scheduled at the Cottage. Below each picture you'll find the details about each event and in the comments you'll find the link to book if you wish to join in.

More of these events will be coming and I hope that our amazing crafty community can come together to support each other when we all need it, now more than ever!

📣📣📣 Heads up crafty peeps!

I’ve been invited to judge the scrapbooking and cardmaking at the Sydney Royal Show. For Monday 23rd only, the store will be closing at 1pm so I can fulfil my duties. 🏅🥇🥈🥉

I feel very honoured to be asked and you may see me adding the pin to my uniform for the rest of the year! 🤣

It’s Mixed Media day tomorrow and we are super excited to get collaging and painting and messy all over! 🤣🎨🫟🖼️

I’ve been busy moving every piece of furniture in the entire shop and the work area is now HUGE! 🥳 That means now we’ve got a couple of extra spots available for class tomorrow.

Hiya pals! Mum and I have returned from a month enjoying the magical world of Disney’s Cruise Line and Disney Parks in California. Mum’s 80th birthday is fast approaching and it was a truly wonderful way to start her celebrations! 🚢✈️

I’m slowly working through all the emails and orders from the last month, so thank you for your patience while I catch up. Big thanks to Julia who kept the shop chugging along in my absence. 😘

Simple Stories have a new Say Cheese collection called Happiest Place and it is currently in transit to the store. I’m super excited to get my hands on it because it will be perfect for my new (and old!) Disney photos. °O°

I’m running a class on April 4th from 10am-4pm where we’ll complete a 6”x8” Binder with the new collection. If you’d like to secure a seat, click the link below. It is the Easter weekend, so if you can’t make it, then we are offering class kits and instructions for purchase so you can complete at home whenever is convenient.

The Cottage was the place to be yesterday for Belinda’s Mixed Media Class! What a buzz and what a fabulous day spent creating art with friends! The work area was bursting at the seams, so I’ve been busy shifting furniture, rearranging the store layout and preparing for a huge expansion of our work area. More classes and more availability is coming your way!

Does the idea of getting messy while crafting thrill you? Are you keen to see how mixed media fits in our paper crafting world?

Join Belinda at the Cottage on Saturday 17th January for a 4 hour workshop from 11am-3pm. Learn about using a variety of paper types to create amazing collaged backgrounds and how textural elements and embellishments can bring your art to life.

A list of required supplies will be given before class and we are also happy to help set you up with everything you’ll need to enjoy this creative journey!

Class project can be completed in an art journal, on a canvas, on cardstock to add to your scrapbook or any surface that works for you! As Tim Holtz would say, “You do you!”. 😜

Happy New Year crafty peeps! 🥳 I LOVE a new year!! It’s a fresh start, a reset, a chance to try again and the opportunity to make life a little better for ourselves. 🤞🏻
If your resolutions included more scrapping time, the Cottage is here to help you out! I’m putting the finishing touches on our January calendar, but wanted to give you a heads up about a Travel Marathon at the shop this Saturday from 11am-3pm. ✈️ 🧳 🌎
We’ve dug in to the stock cupboard and found a “vintage” Simple Stories travel collection called Going Places. Class will include 3 double layouts (and coordinating pocket pages) in 12x12 sizing and seats are very limited due to stock availability.

With coffee and cricket on todays agenda, it was close to a perfect day! 😜☕️🏏 The only thing missing from my perfect day was crafting time, so tomorrow we are hosting a scrap at the Cottage from 10am-4pm! There’ll be some free mini Scrap Your Stash sessions throughout the day to get you inspired as well, so come along to get crafting and I’ll even keep you updated with the cricket score! 🤣
