HOME LIBRARIES
One of my favourite things to do whenever I am travelling is to visit bookshops. Books add so much character and love to a space. We often overlook having a home library in our own home, as books can often give a cluttered feel. I grew up with a home library in my childhood home. My nan owned a private library in her local area as a business in Perth in the 1950's! Prior to local council library's, they were private businesses! Our apartment that we bought recently had beautiful built in book shelves in the entry which is now filled with all our books. It's the feature that I fell in love with our apartment when I opened the door on the first home open.
Which of these home libraries are your favourite?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Welcome to another year around the sun! I've started the year with a change around by introducing some more greenery into our living space. Pots and plants are a wonderful way to add a touch of nature and some fresh energy to your space. 🌿☘️🌱

INSPIRATION
I still use magazines as a source for inspiration such as Australian Home Beautiful, House and Garden and Vogue Living. For long as I can remember it was my 'treat' to splurge on them every now and then, to see other projects and concepts right here in Australia. For international inspiration, I watch Architectural Digest Open Door, where they highlight celebrities homes in places like New York, London, Malibu and Scandinavia. Starting the design process for our little country cottage/studio. Exciting! 🖤🖤🖤

COMING SOON!
I have never built before but Nath and I have fulfilled a long held dream to secure a rural block as a weekender, and for us to materialise our creativity! Our dream is a studio/cottage surrounded by Australian bush. We're starting with a blank canvas and will be a long term project for us both!
Watch this space! 🖤🖤🖤

PHOTO GALLERY WALLS
I've finally finished our hallway in our new apartment. From a beige boring entry to colour and a gallery wall (which I love!) displaying photos taken from our beautiful trips overseas. Gallery walls are a great way to display collections of photos that are usually tucked away and are never to be seen. This gallery wall took a couple of weekends to organise and cost all up under $200! A great rainy weekend project! Light shade from

Tips to create a photo wall like mine -

1.Paint an area or a wall a colour to act as a backdrop. I used Dulux Grecian Gold

2. Select a group of photos and edit them. I use an apple computer, and the black and white filter is called Noir. Black and white is monochromatic and effective way to group photos. I saved my photos to a stick and printed them at Officeworks.

3. Choose a frame. I got mine from Officeworks. They are high quality and have glass (not plastic), the frame is solid timber, and these ones also have a recessed display plate. I chose two sizes;
8 x 6 inches and 12 x 8 frames. I kept the frame all the same. This creates a more uniform display.

4. Now the tricky part. Lay out your gallery on the floor to size up and space out your photos. I played mine out in front of the area. Focus on spacing the photos so the area balances. I started at the top and moved to the bottom. It's almost like creating a jigsaw puzzle where each photo fits into a space.

5. I measure by eye...but some of you might want to measure everything out. I used small plug in hooks from Bunnings.

DESIGN INSPIRATION
Love my gift from my boys for Mothers Day. Anna Spiro, A Life In Pattern. Anna is a local designer from Brisbane. Her use of colour is an alternative to the naturals we are seeing alot of lately in interiors. Her work is divine!

TIME OUT
Time out from the business of life is essential for self care and wellbeing. Just spent a refreshing short break in the beautiful precinct of Sanur, Bali...took me back to an era of Bali from long ago that I remember fondly. 🌴🌴🌴
