Enjoy our delicious homemade quiche served with a fresh garden salad featuring local favourites from across the region. Our salad is topped with crispy orange crisps from Eric at Go Nuts, Nangiloc, and finished with a beautiful orange and poppy seed dressing from Robinvale Estate. ✨

Thank you, Sue, for spending time with us at Mallee Creatives today and sharing stories from your book And the Bird Flew Away.

Guests enjoyed hearing about the rich history of the Cathcart and Haeusler families, the pioneering spirit of the Mallee, and the personal journey that inspired Sue to document these important local stories.

It was wonderful to see our community come together to celebrate local history, storytelling and the people who help preserve it for future generations.

Join us for a special book reading with local author Sue McLean, who will share excerpts from her book And the Bird Flew Away.

Through family stories, photographs and historical records, Sue brings to life the intertwined histories of the Cathcart and Haeusler families of Sea Lake, capturing the resilience, community spirit and rich heritage of the Mallee.

Whether you’re interested in local history, genealogy, rural life, or simply enjoy a good story, this is a wonderful opportunity to hear directly from the author.

Come and experience Woven, our latest exhibition celebrating colour, culture, creativity and traditional craft.

Featuring the incredible natural fibre weaving of Aunty Marilyne Nicholls, alongside the stunning feather flowers and intricate wire weavings of Aunty Kathy Nicholls, this vibrant exhibition is beautifully complemented by textile artist Ruth Davies’ detailed beading and embroidery samplers.

Filled with texture, warmth and storytelling through handmade art, Woven is an exhibition not to be missed.
