Part 3 — From a little idea to my own creative business 🎨❤️
After everything our family had been through, I knew I needed to find a way to create an income.
So back in 2012, I started a little online business.
At first, I was selling baby clothing that I purchased from overseas. I also started bringing in colourful nursery stickers featuring characters children loved — Winnie the Pooh, Strawberry Shortcake, Finding Nemo, Spiderman and so many more.
And to my surprise… they started selling like hotcakes! 😂
The nursery stickers became incredibly popular, and I started to realise that this little idea might actually become something.
Then I decided to take another step and purchased a vinyl cutting machine.
And that's when everything changed.
I started designing and making my own wall decals.
It all unfolded in our dining room.
For the next few years, our dining room became the headquarters of Two Little Giggles. 😂
It was where I designed, cut, prepared, packaged and organised orders. Our dining table became my workspace, and little by little, the business started to grow.
Eventually, I realised that creating my own designs was what I really loved.
So I gradually stopped bringing in the colourful nursery character stickers, and I eventually stopped purchasing clothing and other products from overseas too.
Instead, I focused on creating my own designs and making my own wall decals.
And that's how the Two Little Giggles wall decal business began.
Looking back, it's quite amazing to think about where it all started.
I didn't have a fancy studio.
I didn't have a warehouse.
I didn't have a big business plan.
I had a dining room, a vinyl cutter, some ideas… and a real need to create an income for my family.
And then, slowly but surely, that little idea grew.
Today, I can look at something like this — around 100 postal tubes packed and ready to head off to customers — and think about that little dining room where it all began. 📦❤️
Sometimes you don't realise how far you've come until you stop and look back.
From a dining room in 2012 to hundreds of orders and years of creating something I love.
And the funny thing is… I never set out to build what Two Little Giggles would eventually become.
I just took one step.
Then another.
And another.
And here we are. ❤️
Have you ever started something small from home that eventually became something much bigger than you imagined?
I'd love to hear about it. 👇❤️
