When I Was A Kid Vintage

When I Was A Kid Vintage Vintage Antique Collectable. You never know what will come through the door next! Take Care
Chris and Nadiene

We have a love for Antiques and Collectables and like to bring to our clients a range of eclectic and unusual pieces. We sell online and also through a number of well known Antique Fairs across Victoria. It has been through our Antique Fairs that we came up with the name of our business, so many of our wonderful customers view our wares and comment about how they remember them from when they were

kids. Our Logo is from a Vintage Metal Negative and this kid has the most amazing expression on his face that we couldn't possibly let him be lost in time. We will keep you posted on all our up and coming activities, and hope to see you all soon. Please feel free to message us at any time should you have questions about any items you may have, or items you are wanting to find.

Nice little retro mini bar on wheels has just arrived in store at .
The plan is to try and bring back the white vinyl — it’s looking a bit dusty or possibly stained at the moment.
I’ll attempt to clean it with warm soapy water and see how it turns out.
If anyone has a better suggestion on how to clean it and restore that white, let me know in the comments!

A little detour recently took me to Torrumbarry Weir.
This short clip was taken above the weir — I arrived a little late in the day and the gates were already closed, so I couldn’t get down below.
I ended up sitting by the information centre and had dinner while watching the clouds and the river flow by.
Maybe next time I’ll get there a bit earlier and head below the weir.
The mighty Murray River has some great sights, whether it’s the man-made structures or the natural beauty along her banks…

After my last post on Chiltern's ghost signs, a few of you said they weren't original, so I did a little digging - correct me if I'm wrong here.

These signs ARE original, from back in the gold rush / early 1900s days. They were just touched up when Disney came to town to make its first feature film made in Australia, Ride a Wild Pony (1975). It's based on James Aldridge's novel A Sporting Proposition.

For filming they turned the whole town back to the 1920s, dirt on the roads and all the ghost signs painted to look vibrant again.

Here's another great example from Chiltern - this Pennant Kerosene one at Castle's Motor Garage.

Looks like the whole streetscape is heritage listed now, which is why they've survived.

Would love to hear from you - were you there, or an extra, when they filmed it? Comment below! 👇

Room review time!
This time I’m at Delkeith Cabin in Barnawartha, in the North East of Victoria, where I stayed for four nights.
Nice clean and spacious room with everything I needed. It was quiet and relaxing, with only the frogs to contend with. The bed was comfortable and I had a good night’s sleep each night.
Thank you all for watching!
