At Doodle Den Inc, Pride isnβt just a month, itβs part of everything we create, every story we tell and part of every person who walks through our Doors.
this Pride, we want to take a moment to honour those who made space for us to exist loudly, creatively, and unapologetically.
with Deep respect, appreciation and gratitude, we celebrate the life of David Hockney.
born in 1937 into a working class family, Hockney rose to prominence in the 1960s. a time when being openly gay was still criminalised in his UK home.
Despite that, he chose honesty. he chose visibility. He chose representation. he chose Pride.
he chose to paint q***r love as it truly is, real, soft, joyful, and human.
that kind of courage matters. it ripples forward. it allows others to express themselves openly, regardless of their sexuality and builds the foundations for the path we now walk on.
because of artists like Hockney, people like us get to build spaces like Doodle Den inc.
spaces that are inclusive and community minded. spaces where creativity and identity are celebrated and openly expressed, not hidden or told to tone it Down.
Doodle Den inc isn't just a shop, it's an inclusive space where you can express yourself freely and simply be proud of who you are.
so this Pride, weβre celebrating the past, standing proud and loud in the present, while continuing to create a future where everyone belongs and everyone shows their pride.
happy Pride and keep on Doodling β¨βοΈ ππ§‘β€οΈπ©΅π€π©·ππ€π€βοΈβ¨
