Introducing pépite - meaning 'a good find' in French, pépite is a temporary shop hosting a small selection of original objects by local creatives. Featuring a mix of carefully selected ceramics, jewellery, artwork, accessories and apparel, pépite gathers the work of some of Melbourne’s freshest and most promising artists under one roof. Everything is handmade, with many one-off pieces, limited editions and some special commissions exclusive to pépite. pepite.com.au

New Artist ~ Introducing the work of Emma Young, the latest artist to join the pépite collection. Emma is a Sydney based ceramicist who focuses on stoneware. Her hand building makes use of coils and slabs, producing work informed by the curves and palette of the natural world with a particular interest in the quirks of underwater ecosystems. Her application of these interests to clay result in organic pieces that often possess a whimsical presence; forms that you can imagine alive and in motion.
