One of our most talked about spaces during Melbourne Design Week was the Experience Room.

Created to give people a completely different way of looking at light fittings, it’s a place where visitors can see how light behaves, how it interacts with materials and surfaces, and how different fittings can completely change the feel and function of a space.

The panellist all agreed on the value of bringing in a specialist lighting design consultant to a project.

Architects and designers are experts in creating beautiful spaces, selecting materials, shaping form and defining how a project feels. A lighting designer brings another layer of thinking, helping to shape how those materials, spaces and architectural details are experienced through light.

The best projects often happen when these disciplines work together from the outset, creating spaces that are not only beautiful, but feel considered, comfortable and engaging to spend time in.

Visitors were in awe of the beauty and materiality behind the collections we showcased for Melbourne Design Week.

Brae, Husk and Point Five were displayed alongside the very recycled materials they’re crafted from, revealing the journey from raw matter to refined luminaire. A simple but powerful reminder that thoughtful design can give new life to discarded materials without compromising on beauty.

We were thrilled to launch new Australian brand .studio, now exclusively available through Lux FX, as part of Melbourne Design Week 2026.

Their first release, PIXEL, is a modular wall and ceiling luminaire handcrafted in Australia from ceramic, bronze and aluminium.
