O C T O B E R 🩷 Wait! It can't be already 😂 ok it is October! So pinch and punch for the first of the month, yes, I know I am late, supposed to be this morning. Today has been nutzoid in the shop and this is the first chance I have got to sit, so please forgive me for my tardiness.

Now good folk… this weekend is a long weekend and to make it extra special… we are closing for tomorrow as well. So closed Friday, 2 October and reopen Tuesday, 6 October when the fun and frivolity recommence.

Photo is of The Topp Twins. We saw them at the Woodford Folk Festival, I can't remember which year. A fabulous sister comedy duo from New Zealand. I remember laughing until I cried at their song "Dolly and the Twins". Sadly Jools was lost to cancer this year. We send all our love to Lynda 🩷 f cancer

S T O R Y T I M E 🩷 I casually rang a guy at the end of last week. I have been trying to arrange timing for him to put a ceiling up in one of the rooms at home. He's had a 18 month waitlist. We were ok to wait for him, being laid back renovators (insert laughing hysterically emoji here). He said "Oh I can be there on Monday" I said "Great, see you then, what time" and made this face 😳🤣 as we had a two day workshop booked for Sat / Sunday. He said 7am. My brain went "Sheesh", my mouth said "Fantastic! See you then!"

So far this week… he has installed a pressed tin ceiling beautifully. Then he ripped out carpet, underlay and all the treasures underneath the underlay (whole other story) to see what the floor is like. The original floorboards are there and strangely really unusual. We are going to have a timber floor now instead of carpet. Embracing the weirdness. Then because it was bucketing down with rain and he'd driven a distance to talk floors, so as not to waste a day he stripped out the room. John is de-nailing walls and floor and then we are ready for electrical, walls and floor. Matt is keeping us on our toes.

Long story short. We will be leaving at 1pm today to go and get things so we are ready for 7am next Monday again. Please don't kill us. Please wish us well.

Isn't the "ABC" wallpaper on the masonite ceiling sexy as anything! I don't know how we will ever live without the 50s carpet and a mix of masonite and panelled walls. We have been here 33 years now.

P A P E R 🩷 R O S E 🩷 If you know us you know that we are fans of supporting Australian Made wholesalers and manufacturers. It is with great delight that we can announce that we have a new paper craft supplier that ticks both these boxes. AND… their stuff is GORGEOUS. I am simply over the moon at how good the stock is.

We do things a little differently in our shop. We are opening the paper packs and selling each sheet individually. I know that people want to dash in and buy a couple of sheets of patterned and a few of sheets of plains and create their project. It's how I like to shop.

You don't need to buy a whole pack of paper that you won't use. No waste. No fuss. Plus when new stock arrives, the older stock gets added into our 50% off bargain bin. Everybody wins.

Plus you are supporting Australian workers, manufacturing and small business. So pat yourself on the back for that.

P H E W 🩷 My last wedding pickup for today is complete. Now it's time for Easter, we will re-open 9am on 7 April.

From our last post on 10 January to now we have been super busy. I think we did five Wedding Open Days and Expos in four weekends from 11 January onwards. Then the invitation appointments have rolled in, making our remaining weekends full up. More Open Days. We have met so many lovely couples it makes my heart happy. It's grand to be busy, to be pushed with new ideas… really happy. We will have a little rest and then bounce back into things.

If you are waiting for a quote from me, I know there are two that I haven't done yet, then I will be onto them next week. We had a couple of curveballs this week with Dad back in hospital twice. Life doesn't get easier the older you get, and Dad is copping it at the moment. Wish I could make it easier for him. But I can't. I will send him all your love though and that will make him smile.

H E L L O 🩷 L O V E L I E S 🩷 Grateful for the holiday rest and break. I successfully banished the word busy from my life for four weeks. Was wonderful. Ate two meals a day, good food. Played with the cats, read books, poked seeds into soil, talked to my tomatoes, they are growing so nicely.

While on holidays we did do three Wedding Open Days. The first was at Stanley Park at Fullerton Cove. Yesterday we were at Adams Peak Country Estate in Broke and also at Ben Ean in Pokolbin, so two places at once! We had a great day!

And now… we are back at work! Not sure if I am ready for busy. But will do my best, and that's all any of us can do xox Cath.

W E 🩷 W I S H 🩷 Y O U 🩷 a peaceful christmas time. Love. Peace of mind. A heart full of family. All the things that matter. It's been a challenging year for all manner of reasons. Bondi has knocked the stuffing out of so many people. There is so much sadness. Please take some time out to be still, and rest, and enjoy the small things. Sending everyone love.

We are now on holiday, but we’ll be back on Monday 19 January.

🩷 1 0 5 T H 🩷 B I R T H D A Y 🩷 Our beautiful May has reached her milestone event. Congratulations on beating your Dad's record of 105 years and two weeks! May was determined to do it and she has. It's nice to have such good news. Wishing her a peaceful Christmas filled with family and lovely food.

The photo is from a few years ago in the shop. May has been shopping via phone recently and lovely people come and pick her orders up for her.

🩷 O N E 🩷 L A S T 🩷 D A Y 🩷 before Christmas holidays! So ladies and gents if you want your craft fix pre-chrissy pop in tomorrow. We will be open from 9am until 4pm. We have found some wonderful new companies to order fabulous things from. Am so excited about them! I did test orders from two of them, have a third one still to do, but have missed the boat before the end of the year. Here's a pic of goodies from one of them.
