Coastal Studio Ceramics is located near Lake Cootharaba on the Sunshine Coast, Kabi Kabi Country. We design and sell high quality underglaze transfers, shipping them all over the world. We also hand craft durable tableware, using Australiaā€™s finest stoneware clays and lead free glazes. šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ Printing on bone dry clay ā€¦ Part 2!
As you can see I have used the Kookaburra that has simple lines. It transferred quicker onto the dry clay. The pattern creased a little because of where I placed it. Maybe Iā€™ll cut some of the pattern so it wraps around the cup better. Im still happy with it regardless. Handmade ceramics always have the best aesthetic! šŸ‘ŠšŸ¼šŸ˜Ž

DECORATING POTTERY USING SURFACE DESIGN:
I must admit that printing on bone dry clay is not my favourite. The form is fragile and I have to wet the area before applying. It always takes longer for the pigment to fully transfer to the clay. Both these designs have thick areas of colour and need more time to absorb onto the dry clay.

šŸ¤— Iā€™m running a Decorating Pottery Workshop Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre on Saturday 14th November, from 10am -3pm.

šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ You will have a full day of learning a variety of decorating techniques using my underglaze transfers. šŸ‘‰šŸ¼ Bring as many pieces as you want to decorate. Leather hard would be the best, but I will cover all states of clay. If you have any questions just ask me here of send me a DM.

Mollyā€™s Hens Party Workshop: Saturday 22nd August we celebrated Molly and her beautiful group, where everyone made two bowls.

It was such a wholesome experience because everyone laughed through the messy clay moments while hand-crafting beautiful, functional keepsakes.
