BIG BOSS UPDATE ❤️

A bit of good news from the boss's corner today. They had Gaye up on her feet yesterday and she had her first walk! It wasn't far, but every journey starts with a first step and we're pretty happy to see her making progress. Every day she's looking a little brighter and a little stronger.

We've attached a photo of Gaye with our eldest granddaughter, Shae. Seeing that smile on her face says more than words ever could.

We'd like to thank everyone again for all the messages, calls and well wishes. They mean a lot to Gaye and the whole family.

Back at home, I decided it was my turn to cook tea for Junior and myself. Junior put in his order for a T-Bone steak, super seared, with seasoned potato bits. Me being a bit older and wiser, I stuck with the mash and veg. Not sure if that's wisdom or just old age catching up with me!

One day at a time here, but things are heading in the right direction. Thanks for sticking with us through it all.

Cheers

Senior's turn to cook today before we head off to see the Boss.

Early dinner on the menu – homemade patties stuffed with garlic mashed potato, topped off with old fashioned tomato and onion gravy. Not too bad for an old bloke if you ask me! 😋

Nothing fancy, just good honest tucker that sticks to your ribs.

Now we'll head off and spend some time with Gaye. Looking forward to seeing her and keeping her up to date with all the goings on.

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday and getting into some good food of their own. 🍽️

Quick update from the home front.

Junior cooked tea tonight and has been hanging to try out the beef tallow from Carnivore Society. Safe to say there wasn't much left on the plates by the end of it!

For those who have been asking about the Big Boss, Gaye has started rehab. She's still got a fair way to go, but Junior and I were blown away when we got there today. She looked like a new woman. The colour is back in her face and there was just a big difference all round. Still plenty of work ahead, but it's nice to finally see some positive signs.

We can't thank everyone enough for all the support, well wishes, meals, messages and phone calls. It really does mean a lot to our family.

Anyway, that's enough from me. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Cheers

SHED UPDATE 🛠️

We're slowly but surely getting there!

The spray booth is finally in and ready to go - now we're just waiting on the power to be connected before we can fire it up. We've also had some new signs installed, so the place is starting to look a bit more like a proper shed and a bit less like a cyclone has passed through.

There's still plenty happening behind the scenes, but every week we're getting one step closer to having everything up and running the way we want it.

On a personal note, we'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has reached out with messages, phone calls and well wishes for Gaye. She was moved to rehab yesterday, which is another positive step forward. Gaye would also like to pass on her sincere thanks to everyone for their support and kind words.

A special thank you as well to everyone who has dropped meals in for Junior and me over the past couple of weeks. The generosity and support from our community has been overwhelming and we truly appreciate every bit of it.

We're lucky to live in a community that looks after its own.

Thanks again everyone and we'll keep the shed updates coming as we get closer to the finish line!

🔨 Shed Update 🔨

Well, we're gettin' there... slowly but surely!

The saw is finally in its new home and the spray booth is coming together nicely. The shed still looks like a cyclone and a garage sale had a head on collision, but every day we're knocking a few more jobs off the list.

There's still timber, tools and goodness knows what else scattered from one end of the shed to the other, but we're starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

As they say, you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs... although at this stage it feels like we've broken the whole carton!

Thanks for hanging in there with us while we get everything sorted. We reckon it'll all be worth it once we're up and running properly again.

Stay tuned for more updates... and try not to judge the mess too harshly! 🍻

Firstly, I'd just like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has reached out with messages, phone calls, comments and well wishes for Gaye over the past week. The support from our community has meant more to us than words can express and we are incredibly grateful for your kindness and understanding during a difficult time.

Now, onto a bit of shed news!

If you've been wondering what on earth is going on around here, today is officially changeover day at Corowa Bush Furniture. So don't mind the mess! The shed is currently in complete chaos as everything gets emptied out, cleaned up, reorganised and moved back into place.

It's a case of out with the old and in with the new as we continue making improvements to the workshop. There might be a few things scattered where they shouldn't be right now, but it will all be worth it once everything is up and running again.

We're pretty excited about the changes and can't wait to show everyone what we've been working on.

Once everything is set up and looking the way it should, we'll be holding an Open Day and firing up the BBQ. We'd love for anyone who's interested to come out, have a look around, check out the workshop, see what we're up to and enjoy a chat with us.

We'll announce the date once we're ready, so keep an eye on the page.

Thanks again for all your support - it really does mean the world to us.

Due to a family emergency, Corowa Bush Furniture will be closed until next week.

I sincerely apologise to anyone who has been trying to contact me. Unfortunately, I am unable to answer phone calls or respond to messages at the moment as I am spending my time at the hospital and need to focus on Gaye for the next few days.

Thank you for your understanding, patience and support during this difficult time. I will get back to everyone as soon as I can when we reopen next week.

Thank you
Senior
