Cowra Regional Livestock Selling Centre Cowra Regional Livestock Selling Centre is owned and operated by Cowra Council. Canteen facilities are also available on sale days.

The saleyards attract a full contingent of both local and export buyers bidding for supreme quality lambs and sheep every Wednesday from 11.30am. The Cowra saleyards are a stress-free environment for your livestock, offering clean, modern and safe yards and loading ramps, 24-hour surveillance, night lighting, disability access and a recently upgraded dual B-double truck wash. An irrigation system and water-efficiency program installed by Council sees water from the truck wash facilities recycled and irrigated onto holding paddocks. Cowra’s saleyards are MSA licenced and quality assurance certified with selling agents based in Cowra and surrounds trading prime fat lambs and sheep. Agents include Allan Gray & Co, Norman C. Bellamy, JJ Dresser & Co, MCC Howard Oliver, Nutrein Ag and Kevin Miller Whitty Lennon & co. Prime lamb and sheep sales are held every Wednesday from 11.30am. There is a one hour curfew prior to the start of sales.

🚛 SALEYARDS TRUCK WASH – TEMPORARY CLOSURE

Please be advised that the Cowra Saleyards truck wash will be unavailable from 7.30am on Thursday 8 October 2026 while works are undertaken to change over the existing truck wash system.

The upgrade will replace the current system, which has become unreliable, with a new pump system and 110,000-litre balance tank. The new infrastructure will help reduce water pressure fluctuations at the truck wash and for other users along the line towards Koorawatha.

The new pump system will also have capacity to service a third truck wash bay in the future, helping to future-proof the facility.

Thanks of your patience.

Works have been scheduled for Thursday to minimise disruption to transport operators who regularly use the facility.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while these important upgrades are completed.

What an awesome morning at the Cowra Saleyards!

Today we were proud to host a Lamb Drive to help support a local Woodstock family, and what an incredible show of community spirit it was. Council made the decision to waive the Saleyard feed for donated stock as part of the drive.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the morning such a success — our organisers, buyers, vendors, agents and, of course, everyone who came along to show their support. 💛

With the school holidays in full swing, we also loved seeing plenty of little cowboys and cowgirls around the yards, getting a glimpse of saleyard life and joining in the action! 🐑

A fantastic turnout, a great cause and a wonderful reminder of what our local community does best, rallying together when it matters.
