DAC Creative Connection meets fortnightly on a Friday, during school term. We have three areas where three different activities take place. Card Making in Conference Room 2, Art in Conference Room 1 & Patchwork/Craft ( knitting, crochet, embroidery, hand sewing & much more) in the Hall. Our Card Making we do have a charge of $5 per card & 2 cards are usually made each session, subject to change ac
cording to card being made. Cards also has 2 sessions, a morning & afternoon session. We also meet once a month on a Saturday. For all sessions you must book a seat. We do have limited space & tables available. Our “Compassion Ministry” is something that is very special to the group. It consists of Compassion Quilts, Twiddlemuffs & the recently added Port Pillows, Syringe Driver Bags, used in Palliative Care @ Port Kembla Hospital & Pump Chemo Bags For Children With Cancer@
Our Compassion Quilts are made by us & given locally to people in need. Cancer patients, Adults & children who have been abused mentally & physically, Foster children, the terminally ill & many more than I could name here. When we are asked we gladly give them with love. Our Twiddlemuffs are hand knitted by us & embellished with zippers, beads, ribbons, buttons & much more. They are a muff that you put your hands in & twiddle or play with. These help keep Alzheimer, stroke, autistic, Down’s syndrome, mental health, anxiety & anyone who would benefit from a Calming Tool. These are also given freely with love. Our Port Pillows are made from cotton fabric & attached by Velcro to your seat belt strap & are used to protect the port area from the seat belt of cancer patients. They are also being used by people with a Pacemaker the same way. Syringe Driver Bags we have recently started making for Port Kembla Palliative Care Unit. The syringe driver delivers pain relief medication at set times around the clock & the patient can pop them into the discreet shoulder bags that allow them to go about their daily business without drawing attention to it. Pump Chemo Bags For Children With Cancer. We have only recently started making these for The Ranwick Children's Hospital. We were asked by one of our members after a recent family loss. Our Group is very special to us, as it gives local people a safe place to get together & use their artistic abilities to create. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us here on Our page or by Private Message. One of us will get back to you as soon as possible.
