Unique artworks that can be read vertically, so we can get the same deciphering challenge as our Asian friends have enjoyed for centuries. Beautiful quotes and sayings inked in English, on Washi paper & made into scrolls from Inkslinger Art which was founded in 1993 in Tokyo when the Australian artist Merissa Walker lived there.

Colour theory says all colours and greyscale are between black and white. In a time of division, its great to see colours.
Unless you are based on a space station, all of life is lived on or around earth and below the heavens. We don't actually live in the pure extremes of black/white.

August, a fresh month, thank you for arriving with your chills and dampness. Steve, thank you for clearing the Po Box and bringing me my 5 point phone fine, now I'm at risk of losing my licence, because I am the designated driver of the family now, duty of care continues. He also delivered samples of the really nice business cards I did for Converged. This week I reached out to a really friendly recruiter from LinkedIn for the first time, I usually ignore them. Today I'm reworking my portfolio and CV, cutting it back to only 10 years of work history, stripping out dates and global experiences so I can appear less middle aged. So yes, we are all Entitled to Peace, but some are still more entitled than others...

July! "I love such Mirth as does not make friends ashamed to look upon one another next morning." In our house, it's quiet with bursts of showering, laundry and eating, with sleeping squeezed in. I remind my sons, that in a different ERA, I left home at 21, after completing a 3 year Architecture degree. This was my portfolio which I took away, with around 6 employers letters saying what a highly recommended creative worker I would be. Anne Tilby hired me, and the rest is Her-story

Ahhh June, the cold weather arrives, but the sun still shines. We just had the long weekend - the King's Birthday. I'm becoming more fond of Europe these days... casting my fondness to the other side of the world, not stopping half way to the East/America or the Norwest/Asia.
I do like and respect King Charles; he's a bit of an ageing hippy like myself, with two sons like myself, and an ageing queen to care for like myself. People have to respect him, so he just mildly says whatever he wants and everybody listens.
This calligraphy is June in the calendar, I really wanted to publish it, but it's an illegible festival of babbling wet and dry brush work. Enjoy!

May is "Sacred Cows Make Great Hamburgers" month. In this, the year of Repair.
I believe Sara Davies (besotted grandma now) bought this cushion when I helped with the renovations of their Middle Cove House back in 2002. Long live the whistleblowers: voices who respectfully question authority with their words, not bombs, and the capacity of us all to think and feel for ourselves.
