I've been quiet again. Things are going well.....but I'm still tired after doing too much through the day.....then have a habit of falling asleep in front of the TV quite regularly......so then not getting around to doing too much else through the evening. Anyway, we are currently in Birthday season, so I've made sure I try to get a few cards done.....plus a chocolate cake for my husband , who had a bit of a significant birthday, not long ago (The candles were not done by me!!!!). I will say, not one of my best, but for a family cake, which was enjoyed by all, I think it turned out well :)
David's card used mainly Stampin' Up! products, but the spinny part of the card is from Lawn Fawn, and the numbers are from Sizzix. Hopefully it makes sense what happened with it. Card 2 was a card I made for my walking buddy

I have been very quiet, as I have been playing catch up a bit after I got sick just after Christmas. It is now Clearance time at Stampin' Up!, and there is also a new catalogue coming.....so that means that lots of fun stuff is also going......including this punch that I used to make those quick cards a few months ago. If you have patterned paper that needs using up, this really is a great way to quickly create some cards for the stash. Here are details of the punch, and some of the cards I made, again

I was asked to show my aunts in Sri Lanka some of how I make cards. This was one of the designs I took over with me.....but apart from a quick explanation, we didn't make any of these, however, having 8 quick thank you cards was very helpful while I was there!!! I still have a few more of these punched shapes on hand that I can make some more cards with, but this technique made 4 bases in one go......so quick and easy!!!! I put the quick sentiments on while there.
Thank you Patty Bennett, Independent Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for the technique. I've done this with single bases previously, but it was so much quicker doing 4 at a time!!!! This is a great way to use up that patterned paper that just lies around :)

It's almost 3 weeks since I returned from a quick trip to Sri Lanka. On top of that, it's almost 2 months since I got sick before that trip also. I have returned home and just struggled with the weather, doing almost everything, and sleep. Finally I am getting back to some what normal activities, and hopefully after tomorrow, the weather will also start being more bearable. Thank you to the staff at Lift Cancer Care Services for supporting me through the yuck weeks, and gently encouraging me to get back to where I know I can be.
It has also dawned on me that I had not even shared the card I did for my father's milestone birthday earlier in the year. So many things were on the go then, including me not being quite well also, and I think I was just focussed on getting everything sorted for the time away. I did't even manage to make a cake for that celebration, but I think everyone who came along enjoyed Mum's yummy carrot cake!!! I have made many, many cards with this set, and I think I will keep making cards for the foreseeable future. Sorry to the whisky drinkers in the family, but surprise, guess what your cards are probably going to be!!! Thank you to Jojo Webb for taking some of the stress away and colouring these for me

On our way home….but this leg is the worst!!!!! Our flight was due to leave Sri Lanka at quarter to 1 in the morning, and finally left about half an hour later. The queues in the airport were horrendous, so I struggled. Because of the weird time of the flight, I decided to stay up for the meal, and then of course couldn’t quite get to sleep, and now we have another 15 hours at Hong Kong airport, until the long flight home, arriving tomorrow morning…..so basically 2 nights of not much sleep :(
On a happier note, I had a generally quiet time in Sri Lanka, but my cousin and her husband did take me out for a fun afternoon in Galle, and a fancy boutique hotel specialising in our local drink….Arrack. Rushi and I had a few cocktails while waiting, and then we had a yummy lunch of crab curry and poori…..what do you think about the wall of arrack available!!!!! We then did a walk of the town…..and quickly realised everyone else was out there also, waiting for the sunset, so decided to enjoy an Icecream instead

The reason for this visit was actually to help my aunt and uncle celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary….i was one of their flower girls, I flew over from England for their 25th anniversary…..so felt I had to try and overcome my worries about flying to get here. Here are some pics from the night…..plus some decor I helped set up, and my card to them

I know I’ve been a bit quiet sorry…..I was juggling trying to get rid of my cough and congestion, with trying to get organised to fly over to Sri Lanka with my parents for a ‘flying’ visit. My first flight since breast cancer and covid, and first to SL since about 2003. So far so good….and even though it is hot and humid here, I don’t have to do much, and am basically helping the family out as needed and otherwise catching up on reading, and relaxing
Here are some cards done over the last few weeks…..plus my favourite drink ever, which I have managed to get in Sydney……but it’s just so much better savouring it on my trips here. The packaging has changed, but I’m enjoying!!!
2 test cards for a card demo I have to some of the family, a 50th card for a long time Adelaide friend, and a card for my cousin

A few non Christmas cards this time......a farewell card for one of the physios at my cancer Gym, a couple of birthday cards using a new set from Stampin' Up! (I think I will have fun with this one again), a welcome baby card for my god daughters son, a wedding card for my cousin's daughter and a birthday card for my daughter (I may post that again, if my birthday photos were any good.....but I don't think they were!!). All cards were made with Stampin' Up! products, apart from Johanna's card, which was mainly from a Spellbinders set
It was so much fun getting some of these done....and under a bit of pressure again. Hopefully 2026 will get a bit more momentum in what I am trying to get done!!!!
