🎲 Term Program Update 🎲

It’s been so much fun seeing how different each student’s board game has become!

While we all started with the same challenge, many of our young designers have taken their ideas in completely different directions. Some are creating exciting zone-based games where players move through different areas and challenges, while others have chosen classic pathway-style games inspired by favourites like Snakes & Ladders.

We even have a few students designing their own version of chess, complete with beautifully handcrafted characters that are full of personality and creativity.

This week we’ve been focusing on our game boards and cards, with some absolutely gorgeous watercolour designs emerging. The level of detail and imagination going into these projects has been incredible to watch.

Next up, we’ll continue creating our playing pieces, characters and custom dice before moving into the exciting stage of testing and refining our games!

We can’t wait to see these ideas come to life and watch everyone play the games they’ve designed from scratch. 🎨✨🎲

Clay Day… and what a way to finish 🙌

Our final session wrapped up with the kids completely immersed in creating — and this is exactly what Art Escape is all about. Not “copy this”, but try it, test it, figure it out.

We had fairy houses, bowls, name plaques for bedroom doors… all completely different, all completely theirs 🏡🎨

And I think the biggest takeaway?
Clay is FUN… but it’s also a lot more work than they expected 😂

They learnt how to:
– use slip properly so pieces actually stick (not just fall apart later 😅)
– build forms using coil techniques
– think ahead about structure, not just design

And then the real magic behind the scenes…
Their pieces now need to dry for the week, before heading into a bisque fire, and then finally a glaze fire 🔥

They’ve added their underglaze details, and now we wait…

Honestly, I can’t wait to see how these turn out — because this is the part where it all comes together ✨

And just like that… tomorrow is our last session for the holidays 🤍

We’re finishing on Clay Hand Building, which feels pretty perfect — a little slower, a little messy, and full of creativity.

But more than anything, we just wanted to say thank you.

Thank you for showing up, for trusting us with your kids, for filling the studio with laughter, creativity (and a bit of chaos 😅), and for supporting a small local business that genuinely just wants to create something special for the kids in our community.

These holidays have been full of fun, new friendships, and so many proud little moments — and we couldn’t do it without you.

We’re so grateful 🤍

🎲✨ Something NEW is coming to Art Escape…

Not just painting.
Not just craft.

This term, they’re building something from scratch.

And honestly… this one is going to be SO much fun.

Because it’s not just one thing — it’s kind of everything they already love, all rolled into one.

They’ll be drawing their ideas out, painting their boards (yes, acrylics and watercolours), getting stuck into crafting, and then… the best part… making their own clay game pieces by hand.

We glaze them, fire them, and suddenly their little ideas turn into actual, real game pieces they can use.

It all comes together into their own game — board, cards, pieces, even a box to keep it in.

And by the end… they’re not just taking home “something they made”
They’re taking home something they created from start to finish.

It’s creative, it’s hands-on, it keeps them thinking, problem-solving, changing things as they go…

And it’s the kind of thing they’ll be ridiculously proud of (and will 100% make you sit down and play with them 😂)

If you’ve got a kid who loves creating, building, imagining, or just needs something that actually keeps them engaged… this is it.

School holiday magic done right 💚🩷

Our Wicked Mummy & Me Morning was such a beautiful way to slow things down and soak up some quality time together. Just mums and their little ones, painting, chatting, laughing… and making the kind of memories that actually stick.

No pressure, no rush — just a relaxed morning getting creative side by side.

These school holiday moments are the ones they remember 💫

We loved every second of it 🥹

Safe to say… this one was a HIT 💅✨

Our Pamper Party Day was full of all the fun things…

🍫 Chocolate face masks (yes, actual chocolate 😍)
✨ Glitter hair everywhere
💅 Nail painting — with a few little bosses insisting on doing their own manicures
🧵 And some cute jewellery making to top it all off

It was the perfect mix of pampering, creativity, and just letting the girls have fun, be silly, and do their thing 💕

We can’t wait for the final session next week!

I can’t wait for our craft day tomorrow! We’re set up and ready to make beautiful faux cake jewellery boxes, decorate custom hair brushes with dream crème and charms and make our own lipgloss!
