Tonight’s teen class was one of my favourite sessions to teach. 🌸

We stepped away from perfection and into play with abstract textured flowers.

There were no rules.
No pressure to make it look “right.”
Just layers, texture, bold brushstrokes, and learning to trust the process.

It’s amazing what happens when you stop trying to control every detail and simply create.

For so many of our teens, that’s where the magic happens. Confidence grows, creativity comes alive, and they realise art isn’t about being perfect…. it’s about expressing yourself.

Every canvas ended up completely different, and every single one was beautiful because it reflected the person who created it. 💛

I think we all needed this reminder tonight… sometimes the best art happens when you let go.

I’ll admit… I was a little nervous about this term.

Instead of everyone creating the same project, the kids asked if they could explore their own interests. So each week they’re choosing what they want to work on—whether that’s acrylic painting, clay, jewellery making, watercolours, sculpting or another creative project—with our team there to guide them every step of the way.

We weren’t quite sure how it would go…

But honestly? This has been the best start to a term we’ve ever had.

The engagement has been incredible. The confidence is growing every week. And the quality of the artwork they’re already producing is some of the best we’ve seen.

It just proves something we’ve always believed…

When children are given a safe, supportive space to explore, play, experiment and create, amazing things happen.

Every child has different interests, different strengths and different ideas. We love being able to help each of them bring their vision to life, rather than putting everyone in the same box.

We can’t wait to see where their creativity takes them over the rest of the term.

🦩💕 Flamingo fun for Gracie’s 8th Birthday! 🎨🎉

We had the sweetest morning celebrating Gracie turning 8 with a fabulously pink flamingo-themed art party!

Lots of painting, giggles, music and birthday fun with her gorgeous group of friends. And we absolutely loved seeing all their individual flamingo masterpieces come to life!

💖 Pamper Day = the perfect mix of relaxation, laughter and new friendships!

We painted nails, enjoyed face masks, sprinkled on plenty of hair glitter, played with makeup, made some beautiful jewellery, and somehow ended up having an epic dance party to finish the day!

One of our favourite things to watch is complete strangers arriving a little shy… then leaving as friends, laughing together, dancing together, and already asking when they can come back.

Creating fun, safe spaces where kids can connect, build confidence and simply enjoy being kids is exactly why Art Escape exists. We can’t wait to do it all again!

We’re absolutely loving seeing the Dayboro Show results start to roll in!

It’s been so exciting spotting familiar names and artworks from past Art Escape sessions taking home ribbons already… including one created during our crazy Canvas Roulette night! 😍

Seeing our artists of all ages put their creativity out into the world is something we’re incredibly proud of. Whether it’s a piece created in a class, at one of our holiday workshops, or during one of our fun themed events, it’s amazing to see them being recognised.

🎨💥 Graffiti Day was an absolute blast! 💥🎨

A full house, loads of colour, and so much creativity from every single artist who walked through our doors!

Everyone created their own unique graffiti-inspired canvas, then personalised bags and hats with spray paint and their own creative designs. No two pieces were alike, and it was so much fun watching each child’s personality shine through in their artwork.

As the younger artists finished up, they enjoyed some free creative play and extra art activities, while our older artists happily spent even longer adding those final details and perfecting their masterpieces.

It’s honestly one of my favourite days of the holidays. There’s something about the music, the spray paint, the bright colours and the freedom to create that makes the whole studio come alive.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it such an awesome day! We can’t wait to do it all again. 🎨🧢✨
