All welcome - come along to bruny NORTH for an artist talk at around 2pm today, 14th June 2026 where Guy Detot will share stories and insights from his residencies on Bruny Island. Artist Residencies at bruny NORTH

We have 41 days still available for artist residencies from 28 July to 6 September.

Most artists are booking for 2–3 week stays, and some are choosing to share the experience with an artistic collaborator or friend

Cost:
$10 per day / $70 per week
This fee is simply to help cover some running costs

Residents will have access to a warm, dedicated space for making, developing and displaying work. The residency is intended as a self-directed studio opportunity, and artists are welcome to sell work from the space during their stay

Please note that workshops cannot be accommodated as part of the residency. October is our dedicated workshop month at Bruny NORTH, and our insurance does not cover workshops outside of that program

The studio is warm and self-contained. There is no running water or bathroom facilities on site, however public amenities are available nearby on the point

The café will be open to the public at selected times throughout the residency period. For opening hours, please check their Instagram page

This exhibition brings together a powerful collection of sculptures by Guy Detot, the French-born Australian artist whose work explores movement, resilience and transformation through reclaimed Australian timber.

A former professional dancer, Guy has undertaken several residencies on Bruny Island, gathering inspiration, materials and stories from the landscape. His sculptures carry traces of both dance and place — making solid timber appear fluid, dynamic and alive.

Mid exhibition celebration with Nicole Adams and special guest Ben Richardson from Ridgeline Pottery

We have a special mid exhibition celebration (rather than our usual closing event) on Saturday afternoon 9th May at 5pm -18 bruny island main Rd, Dennes Point

Nicole Adams is a well known ceramic artist who is local to the island and Ben is an award winning potter famous for his role in mentoring others and running a hugely successful pottery studio in Tasmania supplying restaurants around australia including Templo (Hobart), Attica (Melbourne), Bennelong (Sydney)

Come, catch up, chat, meet the artist, meet the mentor, look at beauty …
