October 2023 I was last at Bondi beach, eating and drinking at cafes & restaurants, walking all around the beach and pavilion area. People everywhere, I felt completely safe.
We stayed in Bondi junction & walked all around those streets. That was less than 6 months before the Bondi junction Westfield stabbings that left me speechless, and now this shooting act of terrorism on Bondi beach.
We as Australians should be able to travel freely throughout our surroundings, be able to walk around shopping centres, streets, parks and beaches safely without looking over our shoulders.
It is unfathomable and callous and not what Australia is about. My heart breaks for the victims, the families of the victims and all the other innocent bystanders just going about their business. Just horrific.
