The Red Cave Craft Retreat

The Red Cave Craft Retreat Providing a variety of craft lessons in a friendly space. There are a variety of morning/afternoon or evening sessions available!-

Come and finish an existing project or try your hand at a new craft you have always thought about with enjoyable company. $10 per hour covers tuition and venue for those bringing their own projects. ($25 per 2.5 hour class)
The supplies used are extra on top of this depending on the individual project or kit you choose. The Craft Cave is aimed at working on craft projects and to provide a platform

for meeting others and sharing/learning the love of crafts. Tea and coffee/biscuits complimentary during classes. Devonshire Tea Available at an additional $12 per person. Kids under 10 welcome at $5 per hour and can also participate in crafts. Please pre-book due to COVID-19 requirements. Discounts available for 10 class bookings. Try before you buy first class is free (not including supplies you use), if you would like to come and check us out.

Wow! Our pastel introduction day was really terrific, very well presented and it was great to try the different types of soft pastels, papers and tools. The afternoon lesson had us achieve our Jaguar eye each different and way beyond what we thought we could do. We completed the eyes after these photos by adding fur. A big thank you to Robyn for her friendly and in depth tuition. Another day will be organised soon. There will be a limit of 6 people - further details later.

Everyone doing very well, except for me being a right hander I am learning left handed - clumsy but getting there. 🤔 Please bring your own project and join in.

We recently held an introduction to acrylic painting with a red wine, fruit and cheese platter the participants chose a subject and then painted their own representation. We also had 2 young girls who painted their version. All enjoyed the evening. Children are welcome.

Introduction to Soft Pastels.
30th June 2022 at 9.15 for a 9.30 start.
This is short notice but I have been able to have an instructor from Geelong who has chosen soft pastels as her art medium to present an introduction to soft pastels and how to use them. Robyn will be bringing samples of pastels, papers and tools for you to use to see if you like this medium. It is being held on the 30th of June from 9.30 to 12.00 a 45 min break with soup and a bread roll supplied for lunch, and 12.45 to 4.00 pm for a lesson for those who wish to stay on. For those who wish to attend please inbox me for further information. A small kit of necessary tools will be supplied, cost for the morning including lunch is $60 The afternoon class including coffee and cake $50 a total of $110. A non refundable deposit of $25 is required, (in case of illness this can be transferred to another class) Tea and coffee supplied.

A Teddy in a Day
Meet our Rainbow Teddy, This teddy has been made by a six year old girl with help, she placed and drew around the pattern pieces, cut them out and helped pin them together. She then had her first lesson on a sewing machine and actually managed to sew the straight pieces on one leg. Her helper then took over and completed the sewing. The lass was then shown the process of putting the joints in her bear. Plastic ones were used so the teddy could have a bath. She then filled the bear and the helper sewed the openings for her. The next process that she controlled was the colour of and where to place the eyes. The ears were sewn in the seam at the time of sewing the pieces together. A sewn nose was added and now she has her own very pretty friend whom she has called 'Cutie Pie'.
