🌿💔 A SAD GOODBYE, BUT THE BEGINNING OF A NEW CHAPTER 💔🌿

It is with an incredibly heavy heart that I announce the permanent closure of Willow at Darling (formerly Boots & Hay).

Due to the unfortunate events of recent months, combined with my ongoing battle with cancer and the challenges that come with it, I have had to make the heartbreaking decision to close the doors for good.

This is certainly not how I imagined this chapter ending. So much love, time, effort and hope went into creating our little shop, and making this decision has been anything but easy.

However, life has a funny way of reminding us just how precious and unpredictable it can be. If the last few months have taught me anything, it's that life is far too short to spend it doing anything other than what makes you happy. ❤️

So, while one door closes, another adventure begins! 🚐🇦🇺

Before I pack my bags and jet off on an adventure around Australia, I will be holding a HUGE GARAGE SALE THIS COMING WEEKEND!

🛍️ All remaining shop stock will be up for grabs, along with a range of household items and other bits and pieces.

I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank all of our wonderful vendors, loyal customers, friendly visitors, family and friends who have supported us along the way.

Whether you purchased something, popped in for a chat, shared our posts or simply offered words of encouragement, please know that your kindness and support have meant more than you could ever imagine.

To all the businesses at Darling Works, I wish you nothing but happiness, growth and success in your future endeavours. ❤️

Although I'm sad to be saying goodbye to something I worked so hard to build, I'm also incredibly excited about what lies ahead.

I've spent so much of my life looking after others, working hard and putting everyone else first. Now it's time to put myself first, focus on my health, make memories, see this beautiful country and simply enjoy whatever time and adventures life has in store for me.

This isn't the ending I had planned, but perhaps it's the beginning I never knew I needed. 🌻

Hi everyone,

There has been a lot of talk and speculation lately about where I’ve been, why the shop has been closed, and why we’re rebranding, so I wanted to give you an update directly from me.

Firstly, I want our customers, vendors and supporters to know that my heart is still 100% with the shop. The past month, however, has been an incredibly challenging one for me personally.

After almost nine years together, my husband chose to be unfaithful and leave our marriage for an employee of mine from another business. Within 24 hours, he had moved in with her and begun a new chapter of his life.

It turned my world upside down very quickly, and I needed some time to process everything, find my feet again and work out what life looked like moving forward.

If it weren’t for the incredible support network around me, I honestly don’t know how I would have made it through. I am so grateful for the people who picked me up, stood beside me and reminded me of my strength when I needed it most.

Now, I choose to look at what has happened as a blessing in disguise. I truly believe the universe has a funny way of removing what no longer belongs in your life and making room for something better.

And that brings me to the shop. ❤️

I’ll be keeping the doors closed this week while I put my energy into our exciting rebrand and give the shop the fresh start that feels so fitting for this new chapter.

If you do need anything in the meantime, please contact me on 0477 025 194 and I’m more than happy to arrange to meet you at the shop.

We will reopen next Thursday, with a new name, a fresh look and a very grateful woman behind the counter.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the shop and supported me personally. Your kindness, patience and understanding over the past month have meant more than you probably realise.

Here’s to fresh starts, new chapters and bigger and better things ahead. 🤍

🌿 A NEW CHAPTER IS BEGINNING… Introducing Willow at Darling 🤎

Boots & Hay has been such a special part of our journey, but as Boots departs on her own adventures, a rebranding seems like the next best thing for a new chapter.

I am so excited to introduce you to our new name…

✨ WILLOW AT DARLING ✨

Same little shop. Same love for beautiful things. Just a beautiful new name and a fresh new look that feels a little more me.

Willow at Darling reflects what our store has become — a warm, welcoming space filled with beautiful home décor, gorgeous baby toys and gifts, and all those little things that make a house feel like home.

And of course, “at Darling” is a little nod to where our story lives — right here at Darling Works. 🤎

Over the coming days you’ll start to see our new branding appearing across our socials and store, but underneath it all, we’re still the same small local business that is incredibly grateful for every person who walks through our doors, makes a purchase, shares a post or simply tells a friend about us.

Thank you for supporting Boots & Hay and helping us grow into what we are today.

A little personal update from me ❤️

After some recent changes in circumstances, I’ve made the difficult decision to step away from Boots & Hay 😞

Although the journey has been relatively short, I’m incredibly grateful for the people I’ve met, the support we’ve received, and everyone who has supported the business along the way.

I’ve loved being able to be part of something that brought together beautiful handmade products, local creatives and our community, and I’m genuinely thankful to everyone who played a part in that.

Moving forward, I will no longer be involved with the day-to-day running or decisions of Boots & Hay. The business will continue to be handled by Amanda, and any future enquiries regarding Boots & Hay should be directed to her in the usual forms.

Thank you to everyone who supported & encouraged me, popped into the shop, bought something, supplied something, shared a post, or simply cheered us on. It really has meant a lot. ❤️
