Big happy birthday to Stuy! 🎉🍻

Today isn’t just about wishing a happy birthday to someone who works with us here at 1300 Blinds. Stuy is also a great mate of mine who I’ve grown up with and shared plenty of good times and laughs with over the years.

Having someone you know and trust working beside you in your own business makes a massive difference. He works hard, takes pride in what he does, looks after our customers and is always willing to help when needed.

It’s pretty cool getting to work alongside a mate you’ve known most of your life, and Sheridan and I are very lucky to have him as part of our team.

Happy birthday, mate. We appreciate everything you do and hope you have a cracking day! 🍻

TOTAL BLOCKOUT when you need it, with a view outside when you don’t 🙌

For this window, we fitted a complete dark room blackout blind together with a light-filtering screen blind, both inside the same reveal.

The blackout blind gives you a properly dark room for sleeping, while the screen blind is perfect during the day when you still want to see outside but take the edge off the sunlight.

It was a tricky install getting both blinds to work neatly in the one reveal, but we made it work and the finished result came up really well.

Not every window has the room for this setup, but where it can be done, it gives you the best of both worlds.

One of the most overlooked parts of a great media room isn’t the TV or the speakers… it’s the curtains. 👀

Full-length curtains help absorb sound and reduce the echo bouncing off windows, walls and hard floors. They can also block out unwanted light and give the room that proper cinema feel.

They won’t completely soundproof the room, but the right fabric, lining and fullness can make a noticeable difference.

We are excited about this one!!!

On the banks of the Murray River👊

According to the Riverine Herald, the brand-new $11 million Australian Star paddlesteamer will officially set sail from Echuca on September 18.

The Australian Star will carry up to 38 passengers and is being promoted as Australia’s first five-star overnight river vessel, operating three, four and seven-night cruises along the Murray River.

Sheridan and I were lucky enough to fit out this beautiful boat with curtains and blinds throughout. Seeing everything come together has been incredible, and we’re extremely proud of how it all looks.

We can’t share the full result just yet, but once the Australian Star has officially launched, we can’t wait to show everyone!

What a fantastic addition to Echuca-Moama and tourism along the Murray River. We’re very proud that our local family business got to play a part in it.
