Our Market setup recently got a huge facelift

Thanks to Extreme Marquees for getting the second of my branded gazebos to me in record time!
The website says 10 business days. I only counted 7 from ordering to arrival

With 3 markets this weekend. No better time to debut the new setup

A little bit of history for you

This is the Kotta hall. She turns 100 this year. And has always been somewhat of a corner stone for the little bush / farming community of Kotta, hosting bush dances local meetups and of course the annual Kotta Christmas tree. Where all of the nearby families would make something for dinner to share, we would sing carols. And later in the evening. Santa himself would arrive on the fire engine with presents.

When I heard that it was the centenary this year. I wanted to do something special. So chatting with an ex neighbour and committee member. Mandy. Or Wally if you know her. We decided that a large carved timber sign would be right upy alley

Made from messmate. An Australian native pale eucalypt it's sure to last the test of time and look good doing so

Andúril — Flame of the West ⚔️🔥

Can now finally be displayed and shown off!

Because let's be honest… what good is having a sword if you don't have a way to properly display it? 😏

If you've been following along, you'll have seen some pretty cool things happening in the workshop lately. One of those is that I've been getting into 3D carving.

And for my very first project — and hopefully the beginning of a whole new range of products — it was always going to be a sword.

And not just any sword…

Andúril. The Flame of the West. ⚔️

Now I've finally got a display worthy of it.

Well, this one is finally finished! 👌

A beautiful reclaimed redgum lazy Susan, paired up with a set of matching redgum cheese knives.

I absolutely love how this one has come together. The reclaimed timber has so much character, and the matching cheese knives really finish the set off nicely.

Isn't she lovvvvley 🎼🎵🎵

Fresh out of the finish is this custom tack room sign, made from beautiful reclaimed redgum.

Now ready to be mounted on the wall and given a new home. 👌

There's something pretty special about giving old timber a new purpose — especially when it ends up looking this good!
