A very last-minute announcement! 😅

To kick off the month, we'll be appearing tomorrow evening at the Shop & Sip event hosted by the Kyabram Community & Learning Centre.

If you're in the area, come along, have a browse, and say g'day. There'll be plenty to see, and it's always great to meet new faces and catch up with familiar ones.

Our regular market schedule for the month will be posted shortly.

Hope to see some of you lovely people there! 👋

We're branching out into paving!! 😅

And by "branching out", I mean some good clients asked if I could do it and, in true Jarren fashion, I said, "Sure, why not?"

This project is still a work in progress, but getting a solid base in place for the fridge was step one.

Next up is building a cabinet around it to help hide the fridge and, more importantly, keep it protected from the bumps and knocks that come with outdoor entertaining.

It's been a fun little project so far and a nice change of pace from the usual timber work.

Stay tuned for the next stage — I reckon it's really going to bring the whole area together 👌

Big day in the workshop spraying cabinet doors and drawer fronts 👌

First up were the MDF kitchen doors I’ve been working on for my own kitchen facelift — while also getting some much-needed practice in before an upcoming redgum shaker kitchen fit-out.

Second was a huge batch of drawer fronts made from reclaimed river pine floorboards for a client. Lots and lots of prep work in these ones, but they’re coming up beautifully.

With the nice weather yesterday, we had both sprayers running at once — one set up for the oil-based clear, and the other for the water-based green finish.

Safe to say, without a spray booth it was a slow process 😅
But we got there in the end, and seeing everything laid out with fresh finish on it made the effort worth it.

Now here’s a project I’ve been wanting to tackle for a little while — a board and batten style barn door for my parents’ coat closet.

This closet has been without a door for honestly… I don’t even know how many years 😂
To the point where jokes were regularly made at its expense. So with Mother’s Day earlier this month, I figured it was finally time to fix that.

This was my first full-size barn door, and I’ve got to say, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

Now, I did cheat a little bit with the construction by making it a board and batten style door with form ply on the back. Since the rear of the door is rarely seen, this ended up being the most stable and practical way to build it with the tools I currently have available — and it means I shouldn’t have to worry about sagging over time.

And getting it hung was an interesting exercise 😅
I’d never hung a door before, so I was definitely flying a little blind and figuring things out as I went.

It took some time and it was slow going to get it right but we got it up… and I reckon it’s looking damn good 👌

Wow… these came up looking fantastic 👌

This is the latest batch of photo-engraved boards we’ve completed and sent out to their new homes.

I’ve got to say, I’m really loving the challenge these boards bring. Every single image is different, and getting each engraving just right so it looks great on a serving board takes a lot of fine tuning and attention to detail.

From pets and family portraits to special memories and custom designs, it’s been incredibly rewarding seeing these images transformed into something that can be displayed and used for years to come.

If you or someone you know has a photo you’d love immortalised onto a custom engraved board, send us a message — we’d love to help bring it to life.

Last week we received a message asking if we could create a custom pet memorial stake.

The answer was absolutely yes ❤️

Memorial pieces like these are incredibly special, and we’re honoured whenever someone trusts us to create something so meaningful.

Using detailed engraving and carefully selected timber, we were able to create a piece that will help keep a much-loved companion remembered for years to come.

We’ve recently been experimenting with achieving one-for-one engravings — whether it’s pets, family portraits, special moments, or custom designs. I’ve been really enjoying the challenge of capturing the personality of everyone within each image.

If you’ve got an idea in mind, we’d love to help bring it to life.

How do you think we did capturing Muffy’s looks and personality in the engraving?

One of our last-minute Mother’s Day gifts we finished off this week 🌸
A client reached out wanting something special made, and after coming to see me at the market to check out the timbers I had available — along with their different weights and feel — we decided on a beautiful river redgum board with custom engraving to suit.
Safe to say, this one came up an absolute treat 👌

Lotus Board/s UPDATE

Ever thought about upgrading your caravan setup? 👀

I’ve been sitting on these photos for a while, but it was too good not to share.

We made another Lotus Caravan board — this time replacing the existing dish tray and cutting board in the pull-out kitchen (see photos 4 & 5).

Working to tight, precise measurements, this one had to fit perfectly — and thanks to some spot-on dimensions from the client, it came together exactly as planned.

Now finished in wormy chestnut, these two boards tie in beautifully with the setup and are built to handle life on the road.

If you’re looking to upgrade your camper, caravan, or just want something custom made to suit your space — I can help.
