As we slide into (or crawl as the case may be for some of us 😂) the end of the year, I want to direct our attention to some of the faces behind some of the small business. Those who spend nights thinking about what they can create next, realising it was a mistake, rethinking it, rejigging it and then jumping for joy when it turns out awesome. These creators are pouring their passion into their work. This is one of the things I love most about these event. That passion is contagious. So many makers come to and leave inspired. I know it inspires me.

It also makes me thankful to be a part of a community of makers that create with their heart. It makes the gifts I buy there feel so much more meaningful knowing I know the love that went into it.

I don’t know why, but somehow it matters what cup you drink your coffee out of in the morning. I have a few favourites that I cycle through each day. My husband has one he uses every day- his cup is 98 years old. Made by a local Melbourne ceramicists in 1924 whose other work is on display at the NGV. I’m afraid to touch it. 😳

There are so many amazingly talented ceramicists at this market. I wonder if their work will be in the NGV in 100 years from now 🤔

should be! I love her work. Her designs and colours are works of art. And us locals are fortunate enough to get the opportunity to work right along side her at the gorgeous studio in Research! ❤️
