Look at that flower stalk on our Easter Lily Cactus. Now the patient waiting game. Easter Lily Cactus are night bloomers, opening for only 12 to 24 hours. So if you stop watching it you may just miss seeing the beauty this flower brings. They get their name as in the northern hemisphere where they originate their flowering season would be at its peak around Easter. The cactus itself is a fast grower, taking 3 to 6 years to reach mature size. When grown outdoors they can reach a height of 30cm and clump up to 60cm, quickly multiplying as it produces many pups. Once mature you will be guaranteed continuous blooms during spring/summer under the right conditions. They need bright full sun to part shade. To ensure prime flowering conditions, they like a dry winter. If you want to see this bloom, like this post as I will be watching closely and will update with a picture.
