We are very excited to make our beloved show happen again since the last time in 2019! This time in beautiful Frankston Art Centre, that is conveniently located close to public transport and has a great parking options available. With 2 years of lockdowns and all the shows in the industry going online we feel that Melbourne needs a face-to- face show fo

r all teddy bear devotees and supporters not only for artists to showcase their amazing work and see their colleagues together, but also for collectors to meet the makers, to see the bears and feel their energy. When was the last time you went to an exhibition of something you share passion for? Please come and join the atmosphere of joy and creativity that teddy bears certainly give to everyone.

Hi Beary Friends,

We would like to share an update about the Melbourne Bear Bazaar and invite your help in shaping its future.

The Bear Bazaar has brought us so much joy over the years—meeting wonderful makers, celebrating creativity, and watching our furry community grow has truly been a highlight for us. As life has evolved, with new work commitments and family routines constantly changing, it has become harder for us to give the event the time and energy it deserves.

The Melbourne Bear Bazaar is incredibly rewarding to run, but it does require year-round preparation, and we want to ensure it continues to be as special as ever. With that in mind, we are hoping to find someone passionate who would love to take the lead and carry the event into the future.

If you’ve ever dreamed of running a creative community event, this is a wonderful opportunity. We would be thrilled to pass the Bear Bazaar on to someone who can give it the love and attention it needs. You would receive everything required—full event rights, the domain, the website, and all supporting materials—and we’d happily sit down with you, share our processes, and help you transition smoothly.

If no one is ready to take it on right now, the Melbourne Bear Bazaar will remain on pause. We will continue to hold onto everything with the hope that the event may return when the time is right—either with us or with a new custodian from our amazing community.

Thank you all for the love you’ve shown the Bear Bazaar. We truly hope that someone with the passion and time to invest in this special event will step forward, and we’ll be here to support you every step of the way.

We would like to say a BIG thank you to all the makers, buyers and supporters during this journey and we are looking forward to seeing you in the future.

Dear Beary Friends,

We hope that you had a fantastic Christmas and New Year period and are all refreshed and ready for 2025!

We wanted to let you know that the Melbourne Bear Bazaar will be taking a break this year. While we’ll miss gathering our wonderful bear community in person, this pause will give our passionate traders the chance to replenish their stock and come back with more marvellous creations than ever.

This break also allows us to explore new ideas and plan an even better event for the future — one we hope will bring more traders, more customers, a wider variety of teddy bears, hand-made collectibles, and unique creations you love.

In the meantime, we truly appreciate your ongoing support and patience. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on our plans for the next Melbourne Bear Bazaar, so you can look forward to an event filled with exciting new finds in 2026.

Our Story

Hello to all our friends in the bear world, The first Melbourne Bear Bazaar in 2016 was a huge success and we can’t wait for this year’s show. We have once again booked the Cardinia Cultural Centre, Pakenham, VIC as we feel the venue was perfect for this event. So grab your diary and save this date. Sunday, 28th October, 2018 for the third Melbourne Bear Bazaar. With 65 trading tables in total the show is fully booked. We are putting an enormous amount of our time, money and effort to ensure it will be even bigger and better than last year. By the huge turnout and positive feedback, we know for sure that Melbourne was craving this type of event. The lack of bear shows in Melbourne had left a big dent in our industry with both collectors and bear makers missing out. We have now filled that gap and look forward to permanently placing The Melbourne Bear Bazaar on the annual bear calendar. Your support will ensure the future of bear shows in Melbourne. Come and have a great day out while helping to support our industry.
