Happy Mother’s Day!

Thinking of all those are Mum’s in their own way:

Single Mothers
Step Mothers
Fur Baby Mothers
Have lost their Mother
Have lost their child/fur child
Live far from their Mother
Unable to have children
Long to be a Mother

This day touches so many women in many ways. I’m a Mother myself, but there is never a day that goes by where I don’t miss my own Mum who past away 16 years ago from a brain tumour or my Mother in Law who past away 11 years ago from bowel cancer.

Sending love to all who share and recognise this day in their own way.

A touch of wallpaper

What can I say, I’m a sucker for wallpaper. Bold, floral and colourful wallpaper to turn an ordinary space into living art. Life is too short for bland walls.

Working from home with pets!

I love the times I work from home with my pets. When I’m struggling to design or I’m having a blank moment I just know one of my cats or my dog are always nearby waiting for a pat, a cuddle or in this case Felix is letting me know it’s time for a snack.

Visualising a bathroom concept

When a client can’t visualise the end goal when it comes to renovating a space it’s worth spending the time drawing the concept into 3D. Not everyone is able to visualise how something is going to look when completed.

Renovating old houses

I just love when you find snippets of history and little treasures in old houses when you start renovating them. This lounge room floor was lined with newspapers from 1949 under the carpet that had been in that room for 75 years.

Choosing exterior house colours!

Choosing exterior paint colours should reflect your personal style while harmonising with the surroundings. For some people choosing house colours is easy and for others it’s not so easy.

In this case my clients had started painting and then weren’t sure they were heading in the right direction which is where engaging with an interior designer can help. When you have 3 identical 1920’s house in a row, one painted in grey tones on one side and the other painted all white the other side can make it a daunting process to choose colours that work with your style while making sure the end results is what you want and is balanced with your neighbours homes.

A bit of inspo for a laundry project that I have in the works.

I love it when a client isn’t afraid to use a bit colour. Subtle green sage colour brings a touch of nature and a sense of tranquility. Perfect for this space that looks out to 20 acres of land around and horses in the back paddock.
