Tonight we went to The Atlantic at Crown — a place that has held so many special memories for us over the years. Our first visit was back in 2016 to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, and we’ve returned again for my 50th and 60th birthdays too.

With the restaurant now closing at Crown, we knew we had to go one last time to celebrate all the wonderful nights we’ve shared there. Sue & Roby came along for the ride, and what a night it was!

A special mention to Bernard, our waiter — what an absolute gentleman. He made the night feel even more memorable and gave us a lovely gift to take home. We truly felt so special.

The food, as always, was absolutely amazing. The company… meh 😉 Just kidding — we had the best time.

And Melbourne… what incredible weather for a night in May!

We’ll really miss this place. It had become our go-to spot for celebrating life’s special moments. ❤️

Dinner tonight was a winner – slow cooker Chicken Honey Soy with Ginger & Garlic.

My daughter sent this one through, saying it’s all over TikTok at the moment… and I can absolutely see why. It’s incredibly easy and packed with flavour.

Ingredients:

* 1kg chicken drumsticks or thighs
* ½ cup soy sauce
* ⅓ cup honey
* 2 tablespoons crushed garlic
* 1 tablespoon crushed ginger
* 2 tablespoons tomato paste
* 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Method:
Add everything to the slow cooker, making sure the chicken is well coated.

Cook on:

* High for 3 hours, or
* Low for 5 hours

In the last hour, add your vegetables and serve with mash or rice.

I added my veggies about 2 hours before the end as I like them a bit chunkier but still cooked through. I used carrots, corn, Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, zucchini, and water chestnuts.

Super easy, full of flavour, and definitely one to make again.

Normally, as parents, when our kids grow older, we’re the ones dropping off meals when they need a little extra support.

So it truly touched my heart when, over the weekend, my daughter-in-law — despite having a really tough pregnancy (so much like the one I had with her husband 🥺) — baked a lasagna… and today, my son arrived at our door with dinner for us.

I was honestly so surprised, and completely filled with smiles when it arrived.

We served it up with a fresh salad and sat down to enjoy it — and wow. It was absolutely delicious. Rich, full of flavour, with just the right little kick of spice. And then came the surprise… little pieces of sausage tucked throughout — such a lovely, unexpected touch, and so incredibly tasty.

We feel so grateful. Such a thoughtful, generous gesture from our beautiful kids ♥️

Easter 2026 ♥️ Billy and Elizabeth put on lunch for all the family and it was a wonderful day had by all. Laughter, wonderful food, amazing company. The kids had a ball as did the adults.

Happy 2nd Birthday, sweet Elijah! 💛

A true Wiggles fan absolutely deserves a Wiggles cake, and this one was made with so much love just for you. Soft vanilla layers and paired with silky buttercream, filled with delicious .au goodness, and finished with a dreamy white chocolate drip—every detail as fun and joyful as you are.

Topped with colourful lollipops and mini for that extra sprinkle of magic, because turning two should always be this sweet and special.

Hope your day was full of giggles, dancing, and all your favourite things. Here’s to many more beautiful birthdays ahead! 🎉🎂💫

Salmon and salad for dinner tonight… and wow, what a combo.

I seasoned the salmon with Sweet Heat — the perfect balance of sweet with a little kick. Absolutely beautiful on salmon. I used to make my own topping. Never again. This stuff is next level. Clean taste, incredible flavour, and it just works.

When I’m dressing a salad I reach straight for the best of the best from Lane’s — SPG. Honestly, I use it on almost everything. Meat, tomatoes, avocado, eggs… you name it. It just makes everything taste better.

Do yourself a favour and grab some Lane’s.

And where have I been?
Busy. Life, work… all the usual things. But a friend recently told me she was running out of ideas for dinner and needed my inspiration. So here I am … slowly back again. 🍽️ 🤣

Four today! 🕷️🔴🔵

Xavier requested a Spider-Man cake, so that’s exactly what he got. A vanilla cake layered with Biscoff and covered in silky Funkybatter buttercream — because we don’t do boring birthdays around here.

Red and blue were the order of the day, but it needed a little extra magic… so I added chocolate webs 🕸️, spiders and the cake topper to finish it off.

Safe to say it was a hit. Full tummies, happy faces and a very proud birthday boy.

And the last photo? A little tradition — the birthday creations I’ve made for Xavier over the years. Watching them grow (and their cake requests get more specific!) is one of my favourite things. ❤️

Muggy Melbourne turned full Bali vibes today 🌦️🌴

Chris, Sue & Roby and I hit St Kilda for a little seaside reset. First stop — the Espy for a cooling drink, live music and that unbeatable beachfront energy. Nothing quite like sitting watching the world roll by.

Then onto Acland Street for lunch at Rococo (OMG yum 🤌🏼). Risotto, laughter, and that “we should do this more often” feeling.

We wrapped it up with a stroll back to the car… accompanied by “passing showers” that absolutely committed to the bit 😂 Safe to say the ground (and our clothes) got properly christened.

Hot, humid, slightly chaotic and completely perfect.

Melbourne, you keep us guessing — and we wouldn’t have it any other way. 💛

Today we celebrated Billy’s 31st birthday a couple of days early, and of course it had to include a quick Pokémon cake for his latest obsession 🎂

This beauty was whipped up in just 2.5 hours. A vanilla cake with Nutella centres and finished with FunkyBatter buttercream.

Despite the 32 degree heat, that buttercream held up like an absolute champ 🙌

I also got to test out my new birthday gift from the family, an automatic cake icing machine. So easy to use and once I perfect it, I’ll be icing cakes in the blink of an eye.

Happy almost birthday Billy 💙
