This one feels pretty bloody special 🥹💙

A few months ago, we purchased our very own commercial premises for Gordon Flooring.

We’ve been quietly working behind the scenes, building it out and getting it ready… and we have opened our doors!!

We found this factory late last year and both just knew…

This is our space.

And it’s pretty wild when I think about how far we’ve come.

Roger’s flooring journey started over 30 years ago, working for my Mum and Dad in their flooring business, where he learnt his trade and spent more than two decades in the industry.

Then we decided to back ourselves and start Gordon Flooring in Central Queensland.

And we started SMALL 😳

A $12 logo.
A page.
A $2,000 grinder.

Then we hired our first employee.

And over the years, that little business has grown into an incredible team of 10.

Has it all been smooth sailing?

HELL NO 😂

We’ve had some amazing highs and boyyyy have we had some lows. And there have been plenty of moments where we wondered what the hell are we doing 🤯.

But we kept going.

And this season feels really special.

We have the most amazing team around us and now this incredible space to call our own.

I’m so bloody proud of Roger, our team and what we’ve built together.

And to every person who has supported us, recommended us, cheered us on or trusted Gordon Flooring with your home or business…

Apart from being a big Melbourne Storm fan 💜💙, Roger loves tinkering with timber and restoring old things when he gets the time - including a 1946 Maple Leaf Chevrolet pick-up that he restored back in his 20s! 🚙

Think polished concrete is just grinding it until it shines?✨️ Think again! 👀”

Before we can achieve that beautiful polished finish, we need to densify the concrete.

Why? 🤔

Densifier works its way into the concrete, locking those loose sand and cement particles together and turning a soft, porous surface into a harder, stronger foundation.

Skip this step? ❌
The diamonds can pull out those fine particles, leaving you with a dusty, weak and dull floor — definitely not the finish we're after!
