Sometimes jewellery is pretty. Sometimes it’s genuinely uncommon.

These gorgeous little flower studs are set in 14ct white gold with natural rubies surrounded by natural saltwater pearls.

And before anyone says, “aren’t all pearls natural?” — not quite.

Most pearls sold today are cultured pearls (still genuine pearls), meaning a pearl farm deliberately places an irritant inside the oyster to start the pearl-growing process.

These pearls are natural pearls, which form completely on their own without any human intervention. They’re incredibly rare. In fact, natural pearls became so scarce that the cultured pearl industry was developed because finding enough natural pearls for jewellery simply wasn’t sustainable.

You can actually see the individuality in these pearls too. They’re not perfectly identical little spheres stamped out by nature. Each one has its own subtle character, which is exactly what collectors love.

There’s something incredibly special about a natural Australian Opal — no two are ever exactly the same, and the way they capture and release colour is completely their own.

And then you see one like this…

23.26 carats. 💎

That is an incredibly impressive size for a natural solid Australian Opal, measuring approximately 27.40 × 21.00mm. It has a real presence when you see it worn, but what makes me fall for it is the colour.

The flashes of blue, green, violet and yellow, together with those beautiful red and orange broad flashes, move across the stone as you move it in the light. It almost feels alive. ✨
