🐞 A Little Window into the Bug World!

Another way to use your punches, this time with the Cute as a Bug Suite!

Using the Rounded Rectangle Punch, I've created a series of windows in patterned paper. It actually reminds me a little of those old camera film negatives! 📸

I've used Foam Adhesive Strips to give the panel some dimension, with the little bugs and sentiment peeking through. A few Ladybug Garden Epoxy Shapes add the finishing touches.

💡 A little positioning tip: Before attaching the bugs, place your punched DSP panel over the card front and lightly mark the corners of the openings with a pencil. Remove the panel, position and stick down your bugs, then erase the pencil marks before attaching the raised panel.

And those leftover punched-out pieces? I've used them inside the card for a little extra interest!

🎬 Unfortunately, Edits decided not to save my original footage, so some of the steps are missing. Hopefully this little tip helps fill in the gaps!

🌸 Remember Those Punch-Outs?

Well, here's what I did with them!

Four Ornament Punch shapes become a flower, with a few pieces from the Sprig Punch adding the finishing touches.

I've also brought back the inked embossing folder technique, a great way to add colour and texture in one go. If you missed my earlier reels on this technique, they're worth a look!

Another way to get more from the punches you already have in your crafty stash.

Sometimes it's worth looking at those punched-out shapes a little differently!

A Different Way to Use Your Punches!

We're back with more ideas for using those punches in your crafty stash!

Today's card was inspired by Juli Baca, using a Sprig Punch and an Ornament Punch to create a cut-out design in Night of Navy cardstock.

A little contrast with Parakeet Party, some texture from the Subtle embossing folder, and a few finishing touches bring it all together.

💡 And don't throw away those punched-out pieces! Stay tuned to see what I've done with them.

🖤 Black, white and a touch of gold! ✨

A little twist on the Chevron Card technique!

I've used two contrasting patterned papers, cut into 2 cm (¾") wide strips, and positioned my chevron off-centre for something a little different.

Gold-foiled butterflies and a thank you sentiment add a little elegance, while a black mat on a black card base keeps everything looking seamless.

And the finishing touch? A little Wink of Stella on my black matte dots for some subtle shimmer! ✨

This is also a great technique for using up those leftover strips of patterned paper!

🐸 P.S. Apologies for the background chorus! The frogs are going absolutely crazy here in the evenings now that the warmer weather has arrived. 😂

A textured twist on cardstock scraps

This time I kept to one colour family, using different shades and widths of cardstock with angled edges.

The little twist? I embossed every second piece before sticking them down. It adds texture and interest while still keeping the finished card really simple.

You could do this with any colour combination or whatever happens to be sitting in your scrap stash.

Got paper strips? Try this zigzag

A simple way to use up patterned paper strips and create something a little different.

The strips can be different widths, but keeping them the same length makes the layout easier. Then just butt them up against each other and stagger them as you work your way up the mat.

Once they’re in place, trim the overhanging section as one piece, move it to the opposite side, then finish with a sentiment and a few embellishments.

Another one for the scrap pile ✂️

This time I’ve turned a few patterned paper strips into banners and used them to create a really simple card front.

No banner punch? No problem, a quick snip and a couple of angled cuts will do the job.

You can keep the strips even, stagger them, change the gaps or turn the whole design sideways. It’s one of those layouts you can easily make your own.

Sometimes simple really is enough 😊

A card base, one piece of patterned paper, a little fold to show off the reverse side, then add a sentiment and you’re done.

Quick, easy and a lovely way to let your patterned paper steal the show.

I’ve got a few more ideas using different sized strips of patterned paper coming this week too 👀
