When I first started what I thought was journaling I was confused as why people swore by it. I was confused as to why I was not getting anything from it. Nothing was different. I decided one day to read what I had written and there it was. There was what I was doing wrong. It was very simple. I was just writing a diary, my day to day. I wasnt digging deep or asking myself the tough question’s.
But how do you do this? What questions are you suppose to ask? I just didn’t know. My simple had turned into complicated. I held the pen over the paper for days. I knew I just had to start writing so I began with “I’m sitting here with my pen and paper and am suppose to ask myself questions but how do I do this? and with that question written before me it just flowed.
Every day the questions started forming and the answers started appearing.
I took myself on a journey that is surprising, beautiful, confronting, eye opening and fulfilling. Journaling has a way of taking you inwards and reminding you of where you were and where you are. What you have lost and what you have gained. How you can enhance and improve your mindset. It has a way of taking you to that place of deep reflection. It makes you delve deep to discover the dreams you had forgotten and brings them to life.
It made me pause and take a moment to congratulate myself on my achievements that I didn’t even know were worth congratulating. It’s helping to keep me focused, grounded and grateful 🙏🌻
