What an awesome two months of our little humble shop. Māori Essentials club x KRS Apparel. It’s done exactly what I intended it to do,

create a little bit of awareness here on the Gold Coast about who we are? what we stand for? & creating a community of our people for our people.

I just wanna say the biggest thank you from the bottom of our hearts. To every single person that stepped inside our space the many conversations about where we are from, what we miss about home, what’s good about here…

I wish I could’ve captured all of the awesome convos that happened here. All the whānau we inspired to holding onto our culture, our language, our tikanga being a proud Māori that respects and acknowledges the iwi taketake here our Aboriginal brothers and sisters ⚫️🟡🔴✊🏾

The laughs and moments that were genuine about how our little shop made them feel was priceless.

Thank you to each and every one of you, it’s been a blast and we’re gonna be setting up in Coomera next Sunday for a few hours, will update this week.

Yesterday my Uncle and Cuzzo came in to tautoko and IYKYK how special that was to me and the girls Farr 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾Love you guys.

Our neighbour Jodie she’s a real one always welcomed us with open arms next door.

He mihi aroha ki taku tuahine me tōnā hoa rangatira kaha ki te kōrero Māori.

I try speak Te Reo Māori to my daughters often. We hadn’t long been here in Australia let alone found any one that spoke Māori.

Then this beautiful sista came over and started speaking Māori to us and another Korean brother, her partner is learning too.

This was another mean tohu to build our community to keep our language alive in a country that is not ours. He mihi aroha ki ngā iwi take take o konei. 🖤💛❤️

He whānau kōrero Māori, nau mai haere mai. All welcome 🤗

Massive aroha to anyone trying to learn or out here keeping our culture and language alive.

While we are building the awareness of who we are as a whānau & Maōri community here in the GC, I feel a huge sense of overwhelming aroha ♥️♥️♥️.

We had a visit a few weeks back from more of my beautiful whānau. My darling Aunty Vaea, Cuz Tia, Niece Ariana fresh as here straight into mahi 🙌🏾 & my nephew Ori

Our humble lil shop is tiny as but filled with the purest aroha 🫶🏾.

Each of you that come to tautoko for the brief amount of time know we appreciate you 💯

Living how we are week to week is a massive risk, cliff hanger stuff 😝 but each time Staya keeps showing us more love from my whānau and so many more new faces each week and for that we are blessed 🙏🏾

Seeing my whānau over here is 🫶🏾 everything. It doesn’t matter about the time it’s the true hugs of fam and just their presence that is gold.
