It just occurred to me that we’ve somehow quietly slipped into winter, and I didn’t even notice.
I’ve been talking about how beautiful this autumn weather has been, soaking up the golden afternoons and crisp mornings, yet here we are, already six days into winter! No wonder I’ve found myself reaching for an extra layer and complaining about how cold it is lately.
Truthfully though, I absolutely love winter. There’s something so comforting about this season. Rugging up in cosy knits, lighting the fireplace, sharing a bottle of red wine and a cheeseboard with friends, getting lost in a good book, and enjoying endless cups of tea while listening to the rain outside. It feels like a season that gently encourages us to slow down, embrace the quieter moments, and enjoy being at home.
For me, winter is also shaping up to be a season of focus and intention. A time to finally tick off some of the remaining renovation projects around our home and immerse myself in the final stages of planning my very own wedding later this year. As someone who spends so much of her time creating and planning beautiful celebrations for others, I can honestly say that being on the other side of the process has been such a unique and special experience. There are definitely moments that come with planning your own wedding that you never fully appreciate until you’re doing it yourself, but I am absolutely LOVING every second of it.
As excited as I am for all that is ahead, I’m also feeling incredibly grateful for this quieter season and the opportunity to savour these months before such a special chapter begins.
To celebrate the arrival of winter, I thought it would be the perfect time to share one of my favourite winter weddings from years gone by. A day filled with beautiful seasonal details, warm celebrations, and all the cosy magic that winter weddings do so well.
