A newly renovated ensuite due to water damage from aged silicon in the shower. Water seeped through the edge of tiles & down the wall & onto the timber subfloor. Client first noticed the carpet edge being wet & looked down the shower recess to see water beading onto the floor. My Builder did an internal investigation by cutting a hole in the plaster & it was discovered that the base of the architrave & a portion of the subfloor timber was rotted under the carpet in the Master Bedroom. Solution: A replacement of architrave timber, subfloor timber, updated shower unit, new shower base, new wall & floor tiles of travertine & ceramic. My Client is happy with the end result for a bright, natural toned ensuite & water damage rectified. Looking for a rug in your living spaces? There are so many styles to choose from, such as Modern, Contemporary, Traditional, together with theming like Boho, American Indian, Turkish or Persian to name a few. Then you have compositions of what the rugs are made from, like wool, wool blend, polypropylene, jute, seagrass, coir & so on. A rug completes a living space when hard floor surfaces are used. Rugs need to fit your family lifestyle & stage of life, meaning if you have young children, pets, elderly family members to consider. Next is size does matter, measure the area & make sure the rug fits well in that space. I love the way rugs make you feel when used well in a room, grounding you & give a positive vibe to the space.
Wool rugs can be chosen for more formal areas, whereas Polypropylene can be great for areas for young children & pets as the rugs are easier to spot clean. If a pet urinates on your rug clean it up asap to get as much moisture out of the rug, then spray the area with an anti urine deodoriser which deters the pet to reoffend in the same spot. Yes even us Interior Designers need a change of colour on our walls. Here in our entrance we have taken down our travel photos to make way for a new look & update the travel photo wall. So prepare image one to put primer on the wall over the existing red paint. Image two is the green paint in the main body of the wall & a ribbon of red at the top & bottom of the wall. Ever gone into a paint shop & looked at the myriads of paint swatches & thought, this is too hard to decide on colours for my home?
