My back hurts.
I’m praying that it doesn’t break 😓
But here’s Medusa all fleshed out.
All I’m waiting for is for the sculpture to dry a bit to add detail to the snakes and then I’ll let it completely dry out before having it fired in a kiln.

But of course it’s Halloween all year round! Two additions for a new client 😁

Made with terracotta clay. Formed using a bowl as a former to create two halves. Stuffed with newspaper to hold its shape and then the two halves are put together, creating a ball. The rest is detail. Squish and pinch.

This is hand carved red cedar. A soft wood that’s relatively easy to carve, red cedar is also highly rot resistant and is a great material for windows and doors.
