It's Mother's Day tomorrow and if you're looking for a special gift for a special person in your life, we can help! We have many, many beautiful items made by hand and with soul including baskets, recycled metal birds and larger metal sculptures that look great inside and outside!

Everything we stock has been ethically sourced and in most cases directly from the African artisans who made them.

There are many reasons to love the month of May, and South Australia's History Festival is one of them! As part of the festival we're running our 'Imagine the Past' event in the yard behind our shop in Hahndorf tomorrow from 11am to 3pm. We're firing up our historic bakeoven so if you're in the area, come and taste some fresh baked bread and scones with jam and cream, make butter in a butter churn and explore the historic buildings dating back to 1841!

The Schmidt-Rodert Hof (where our shop is) is the oldest surviving Prussian farm complex in Hahndorf. This event is being run by the Hahndorf Branch of the National Trust. Admission is free.

* Ticket giveaway! * The Adelaide Hills Garden Affair is on again this Sunday, 3 May 2026, in the gorgeous gardens of Stangate House in Aldgate. If you're an old hand at gardening or you're just getting started, you'll love this event! Our stall will be in front of the historic house itself and we'll have a huge range of beautiful handmade crafts from Africa for your house and garden.

Our shop in Hahndorf is open every day over the Easter break, from 10am to 5pm. Pop in for a browse and a chat if you're in the area.
