Hawthorn East Renovation - This project centred on creating evocative spaces, richly layered, that authentically celebrated this family’s story. The kind of home where there is a sense of doing things right, where the good china is shared and enjoyed, where a cup of tea is an occasion to savour.

This project serves as a reminder to relish and appreciate the everyday moments, to unapologetically celebrate your story and to create moments of joy in your home.

Malvern Apartment Bathroom – how do you make an apartment bathroom with no natural light feel light, calm and grounded? No, you don’t make it white…the answer is in layers. Layers of materials including stone, ceppo style tiles, glossy finger tiles giving texture and reflectivity. Timber tones, bronze hardware and layered lighting add softness. Even the brushed nickel has a subtly warm undertone that avoids any cavernous and cold vibes.

This project included extensive space planning to incorporate a laundry, moving plumbing with solid walls and make the space function effectively - previously you had to shuffle into the shower side on 😳

Every project must make the space function, deliver stunning aesthetics in response to the project brief and be able to be implemented (I see you concrete walls)!!

Have a tricky brief or challenging space, reach out, let’s chat.

In Storia strategy sessions, we only cover what you need for your project.

In the Carlton North renovation, I specified materials, colours and fixtures; made functional and aesthetic improvements to existing plans; and refined the space to deliver this elegant and functional kitchen.

Porcelain benchtops and splashback to withstand avid home cook. Sepia glass pendant lighting and bronze finish tapware against Dulux Blue Steel cabinets.

Use of drawers increases functionality together with tall pantry and glass fronted bar cabinet.

Another angle, just for fun!

The warmth of bronze hardware builds further warmth and sophistication.

Carlton North Project Bathroom 2 - some briefs call for consistency in bathroom materials, others completely different materials. In this case, it’s same same but different, driven by the natural light in the space.

The combination of earthy tones, natural pattern and texture, with the warmth of bronze is calm, grounded and effortless.

The brief I wrote myself…every day deserves a little levity; joy in the simple things. Mini celebrations and that little smile in response to a space.

I called the concept for this furnishings project ‘do a little dance’ capturing the essence of those small joyful moments when your favourite tunes fill the room and you can’t help but have a little boogie…

Storia Strategy Sessions in action…from dark and dated to warm and grounded.

With two bathrooms, kitchen and laundry in scope, the Strategy Sessions refined plans, making recommendations for improvements, both functional and aesthetic; made material and lighting selections. The process gave the clients confidence in their plans and simplified the selection process.

This space introduces a warm ceppo style tile, warm tones of peach and bronze, handmade glazed basin and solid messmate vanity.

If you’re considering a project for 2027, now is the time to reach out and we can discuss your space. I look forward to chatting with you!
