Thank you for publishing our - this project speaks to so many of our values - adapt rather than demolish, improve energy, light and liveability, a generous streetscape, just what you need in floor area and a home that is as much about the garden as the house!

Taking this home from a 2.9 star, asbestos home with multiple issues to a 6 star home adapted for its next century (or more?!) is such a pleasure Thanks Lucy & Chris for being amazing collaborators!

Claire and Alex have a steep - but stunning - site that backs on to a park in Toowong. Their home is a lovely workers cottage that sat low on the site - this meant access to the home was via a series of unprotected stairs and bridges that were at their end of life.

Our strategy lifted the cottage so that it was a small single flight of stairs from the carport. A new storey under that accomodates living is set to create a beautiful courtyard between house and carport and a second set of steps to connect to the rear yard.

We are super proud of how the home sits on the land ameliorating the severe slope with liveable gardens and courtyards that are so important for a young family.

by is flying with handover expected in the next few weeks. Loving seeing these deliberate openings and windows framing views and drawing our bright south-east Queensland light into the home in special ways.

Over the next few weeks Bob and three other projects reach completion AND four more have started on site. We are stoked to see our clients reach these important milestones and enjoy a fluid, well planned building process.

Pretty special to see both Goldilocks Haus and Tighty Wh**ey receive commendations at the 2026 Australian Institute of Architects Brisbane Greater Region Awards 2026 in the Residential Alterations & Additions categories.

Big thanks to the juries for the recognition, and to our clients - Hayley, Mark, Rob & Emma - for trusting the process and builders - & - for bringing these projects together so thoughtfully.

We’re really grateful to be making homes with people who care deeply about good design, detail and how spaces feel to live in every day.

A massive shout out to who after 5 amazing years with us has moved to Copenhagen!

Abby we wanted to say a HUGE public thank you for all the expertise, friendship, learning and laughs we’ve shared with you over the years. Our clients and projects have benefited from your amazing communication skills.

Alongside being a RAD employee, Abby gave lots of time and energy to the committee.

As Andy said in our referral letter, watching Abby’s growth from one day a week with us to a full time, registered architect has been one of the great privileges of our career!

When Interior Designer Hayley & husband Mark approached us to do a small extension to their late 70’s home, it was love at first sight.

This large, brick home had one previous owner and was designed by architect G Eric Parups - we knew we didn’t need to change much because a well designed home stands the test of time!

One new opening to improve flow, insert a new ceiling beam and add a garden room that is dining, reading nook, and social heart of the home all at once.

A bold new red extension compliments and contrasts to the original brick and the form of the addition is drawn from the original folded roofs typical of this era.

A playful void sits where an A frame attic previously constricted living spaces and connection to yard. Now a light filled kitchen with a deciduous vine externally that provides shade in summer and sun to a previously dark interior in winter.

Perimeter House is a new build in Moffat Beach, QLD. It’s a home that sympathetic in material and scale to the traditional beach shack. The upper level perimeter wall organises views inwards to a private courtyard while high windows to the north capture views of the eucalyptus across the road. A deliberately open frontage remembers our beachside streets that were about knowing your neighbours and being truly immersed in your surrounds.
