πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ Happy Pride Month! πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

This Pride Month, I'm celebrating love, authenticity, and the incredible LGBTQIA+ community! β€οΈπŸ§‘πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ’™πŸ’œ

My PRIDE Devil is inspired by our iconic Tasmanian devil and the vibrant diversity of our community, this artwork is a reminder that everyone deserves to live openly, safely, and proudly as themselves.

I'm especially proud that Pride Devil prints and artisan products are available through Equality Tasmania with proceeds helping to support their important advocacy work, including efforts to end and prevent conversion practices in Tasmania.

By choosing Pride Devil, you're not only supporting local art but also contributing to a future where every Tasmanian can live free from discrimination and harm.

As an artist, I believe creativity has the power to start conversations, build understanding, visual awareness and celebrate the things that make us beautifully different. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

❀️ Love is love.
🧑 Community is strength.
πŸ’› Diversity is something to celebrate.
πŸ’š Tasmania is for everyone.

The Tasmanian Fungi Exhibition brought together artists from every corner of Tasmania...

From the far North-West to the East Coast, from the Cygnet to Hobart and beyond, artists travelled across the state to celebrate something truly unique the Tasmanian Fungi Exhibition of 2026 part of the Tasmanian Mushroom Festival.

Together, we've created a space where art, science, conservation and community come together under one roof at the Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery.

New friendships were made, old friends reunited, and a community was built around the humble fungi exhibition.

A heartfelt thank you to every artist who entered, our wonderful sponsors, the Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery team, and everyone who made the journey to celebrate with us.

Here's to celebrating Tasmania's unique natural wonders, supporting local artists, and proving that fungi really can bring people together.

May this be just the beginning of something wonderful...

I would like to acknowledge Dean Smith from Tunnel Hill Mushrooms , the President of the Tasmanian Mushroom Association and committee member of the Tasmanian Mushroom Festival

Dean has been a passionate supporter of the Tasmanian Fungi Exhibition of 2026 at Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery from the very beginning and his enthusiasm for fungi, art, community and education led the way! He gave me the green light to run with this idea when I first pitched it.

Please join me online in thanking Dean for everything he has done to support the Tasmanian Fungi Exhibition of 2026 and the wider Tasmanian Mushroom Festival.

Twelve months ago, this exhibition was just an idea that I had to support the Tasmanian Mushroom Growers from around the state and my fellow artists.

This is the first exhibition I have ever coordinated, and what started as a conversation about fungi has grown into something far bigger than I ever imagined.

Today, the Tasmanian Fungi Exhibition is finally hanging on the walls of the Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery

Coordinating more than 80+ artists from across Tasmania, managing artwork deliveries, contracts, sponsors, judges, logistics, committee meetings, transport, media, installation, gallery requirements and a thousand emails and calls in between has been one of the biggest personal projects I have undertaken on top of my full time day job, running my own art business and Salamanca Stall.

The exhibition showcases the incredible talent of Tasmania's artists alongside the passion of Tasmania's mushroom growers, mycologists, photographers, sculpture makers and fungi enthusiasts. It has been a true community effort and a wonderful example of what can happen when creative people come together around a shared passion to support each other.

I am incredibly proud of every artist who took a chance on my crazy idea, every sponsor who believed in us, every committee member who helped behind the scenes, the Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery and every Tasmanian who supported this vision.

Most importantly, I am grateful to the artists. The quality of work that has arrived from every corner of Tasmania (North, East, Northwest and South!) has absolutely blown me away. You have created something truly special in every medium beyond my comprehension.

The Tasmanian Fungi Exhibition will be on display from June until August at the Cradle Mountain Wilderness Gallery.

3718 Cradle Mountain Rd, Cradle Mountain TAS 7306

If you're heading to Cradle Mountain over winter, I would love for you to stop by and see it for yourself.

Bring your family, bring your friends, support Tasmania's artists, support the Tasmanian Mushroom Festival and celebrate the incredible fungi that make our island so unique.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me, the Tasmanian Mushroom Growers from around the state and the committee members, during the last twelve months.

Big thank you to the lovely staff at Brewlab for hosting our committee members meeting each month, fortnight and sometimes weekly!

I'm looking forward to celebrating this achievement with many of you at the Opening Ceremony this Saturday and into the evening at the Cradle Mountain Hotel bar area.

We did it. πŸ„β€οΈ

🚨 CONFESSION TIME 🚨
Is "Salamanca Market Eve Insomnia" a real medical condition ?

It's midnight...
My body: "You should go to sleep."

My brain 🧠 ...
Did you pack enough stock?
Did you pack too much stock?
What if it rains?
What if it's windy?
Did you remember the Square reader?
Did you charge the Square reader? Did you pack the charger for the Square reader?
Did you remember snacks?
Why are snacks suddenly the most important thing in your life?
Did you really say that weird thing aloud?

At 12:01am I am apparently an expert in:
βœ”οΈ Weather forecasting
βœ”οΈ Retail logistics
βœ”οΈ Event management
βœ”οΈ Crisis planning
βœ”οΈ Worst-case scenario thinking

Meanwhile, my husband is asleep within 7 minutes of his head touching the pillow. And is pumping out the 'Zzzz's' like a 2 Stroke Engine.. 🏍

I swear every Salamanca Market stallholder spends the night before market day lying in bed mentally rearranging their stall layout, rehearsing conversations with imaginary customers, and wondering whether they should have made another 37 products "just in case."

What are your secrets for actually getting some sleep?

Herbal tea? 🍡
Meditation? 🧘
Melatonin? 😴
Counting sheep? πŸ‘
A small medically induced coma? 🀣

Drop your best sleep-aid suggestions below and help out a midnight-crazy artist!
