Enjoying the long weekend here in Tassie with a stress-buster pouch; just the right size for some essential oil (Clary Sage in my case), AirPods (should be listening to that meditation app but keeps ending up on a true crime podcast 😁), and some Calm Balm

2024 has kicked me in the you-know-what health-wise, keeping me from doing the things I love especially creating. As I slowly get my strength and focus back and start to work with fabric again, I’ve had a bit of an epiphany about where I’m going with Swan & Drake, put simply: if it’s not bringing me joy I’m not sewing it. I’m not in the business of ‘churning stuff out’ - what I love and do best is make aesthetically pleasing objects and make them well. There will be some fresh new shapes I’ve been sketching and overall I’ll be making less, but what I do make has to (taking a leaf out of Marie Kondo’s book) bring me joy. And friends- this bumbag is very much bringing me joy! So much so I may keep it for myself! I used a linen tablecloth for the front, old jeans for the back, and a sheet for the lining and pocket. And importantly for me: it’s plastic-free!
