Lyrebird = Steiner inspired products 'STEINER' inspired toys, art and craft supplies, books etc - with an emphasis on developing the imagination and creativity.

Mostly made from natural materials, with minimal packaging Lyrebird stocks a surprisingly large range of Steiner inspired products in our little shop. We source local, mainland and European items with an emphasis on quality, natural materials and items to stimulate imaginative play. We distibute in Tasmania for Mercurius Steiner school products, Honeybee toys, Winterwood craft materials, Sugar Plu

m craft kits, Sunshadow handmade slippers, and stock many more small makers of handmade craft, wooden toys, etc
When you drop in, if the shop is not busy we are always happy to teach you simple skills such as how to fingerknit, twist wool rope, blanket stitch etc. If you are stuck in the middle of making a Steiner doll, dont be embarrassed to bring it in for advice - "its never wrong, it's just unfinished"

When a regular customer sends a message: “I would like to order felt sheets, please select ten pastels for me”
Then a new customer sees the selection being packed and says “oooh you have beautiful felt! Can I have the same colours please, and seven threads that will go with them”
* our premium wool felt comes directly from the maker in Holland, we carry a full range of more than x120 shades
* our premium embroidery threads come directly from the maker in Germany in around x400 shades
-the felt is on the website to purchase as single sheets or in bundles
- the threads are not on the website, but working on it, meanwhile feel free to request matching threads for felt purchases ($2 per 10meters of 6 stranded cotton, $4 for 20 meters of metallic threads)

Photos show turned off in the day, and lit up at night, there are multiples listed of sone shades we have duplicated in the window.
If you can pickup select local pickup; if you require posting select local pickup and you will be notified of postage due - - we charge what we are charged by the carrier, website cannot accurately calculate automatically (postage to most locations for small is from $15-$20, medium is generally $20, and large is around $20- $25)
