It was my intention to spend my week off happily planting out my flower seedlings and gearing up for the busy Xmas season. Sadly, that was not to be as my dear little sister Ruthie passed away last week after a long battle with copd.
I’m currently still in South Australia and am not sure how soon I will be back. But I’m looking forward to reopening as soon as I possibly can towards the end of October. Sorry for those of you who have been waiting for a visit this week.
I’ll think of you Ruthie whenever the forget-me- nots bloom in your special blue.

Here’s a few pretty half wreaths this morning. I’ve always got a selection ready made in stock, as well as bunches in different sizes and small containers of ready made arrangements - perfect for gift giving all year round.
I’m open today (Friday) and tomorrow until 3, then I will be closed next week for the first week of the school holidays to focus on the growing side of my business.

What strange weather we’ve been having! From hot ravaging winds and bushfires to frosty mornings, it’s an anxious time for a micro flower farmer!
I will be open this week as usual, (Wednesday to Saturday 10-3) but will take the following week off to focus on the growing side of my business. This will coincide with the first week of the school holidays, always a fairly quiet time in the shop.

Here’s a close up of my straw flower balls. There are 2 sizes and they take 2-3 hours to make depending on the size. I use a mixture of colours and sizes in the naturally dried flowers and if kept out of bright sunlight they should look beautiful for years. Large $62 Small $42

It’s so lovely to get new customers to the shop (still a daily occurrence) and to see their reactions to all the flowers. A young woman yesterday described my shop as ‘quite magical!’ which was a lovely compliment but also a testimony to the healing and calming power of flowers.
I can’t wait to get this year’s crop in - I’ve got dozens of different seeds coming up now, including lots of different varieties I haven’t grown or dried before. It will be so satisfying adding my first bunches of the new season to the flower ceiling. Open today until 3

Good morning! On Saturday afternoon I had the pleasure of helping Briony and Heidi make these delicate dried flower wreaths. I love the fact that mother and daughter chose the same colour palette but the finished wreaths ended up quite different!
The other pics show some colourful vintage sari Kantha stitched cotton scarves I have just finished arranging. These were extremely popular in the previous version of my shop and they are so versatile and beautifully soft to wear. Each scarf has a different fabric front and back which means they will match so many different outfit colours. I have 3 myself that I wear on regular rotation.

Good afternoon! I’ve just finished displaying a restock of gorgeous Les belles vagabondes mini silk scarves and long silk headbands or hair ties. The squares come in a cute vintage repro matchbox of your choice (there’s loads of designs) and the headband comes in a sweet tin. Perfect for gift giving!
I’ve been a bit quiet lately because I’m busy getting this seasons flower seeds going which is painstaking but rewarding work. Between the shop and my micro flower farm it’s a lot of work- especially as I am a one woman operation, apart from watering and maintenance support from Luke of course. But it’s my choice and is giving so much joy as well, both to myself and to my lovely customers.

For those of you looking for a fun indoor experience on this very wet Saturday, a spot of dried flower arranging might be just the thing!
For $15, you can select a little coloured glass bottle and fill it with anything you like from on or under the trestle. These make a lovely personalised gift or something special just for yourself. I’ve had customers buy them to inspire their workplace, to gift to new mothers, grandmothers, the recently bereaved, for a child’s birthday, as a thank you to a teacher…… the list goes on.
