Great news for homeowners. Not so great for buyers.

I hope everyone’s still happy with your gardening spree. We still do. But no longer selling. In case you wonder if what else we do. We’re still keeping our day jobs at the hospitals as nurses. But we entered into property investing in May this year. So, we bought a 4-bedroom house in Melbourne in May 2023. And bought some shares and ventured as well on cash investments. So far so good. As the economy is recovering from the effect of pandemic and the influx of overseas migration has re-opened. So, we’re still busy of something else. But now enjoyed more of our weekends.

Have a lovely weekend!

Father Tom Tomato
Day 70 since transplanting

Tomatoes like a slightly acidic soil with a pH of around 5 to 6.5. They don't require too much high nitrogen fertiliser, as too much nitrogen can promote a lot of leaf growth, giving you a lovely looking plant at the expense of fruit which is what you don't want.

They are potted abd growing on a fast draining soil mix. Just like our succulents.🙂

Got home yesterday after a short stay in Shoal Bay and greeted by these happy plants, asking; “Where have you been? We’re all so thirsty & dry for more than a week!”🙂🪴

This is how they look like when they’re happy and healthy. When they are extremely pretty and red, they are actually sad, angry & stressed due to thirst and lack of nourishment. Don’t be deceived. Learn their language.

Nourish them well. Because most of the time, when they can be very pretty, they are on the brink of death. Due to invisible bugs & diseases. Dig & check the root system from time to time.✋🗣️🪴

What we’re up to now that we’re no longer selling?

Obviously, our love for plants is forever. That’s why, we can’t stop this craziness of succulent gardening. Last weekend, we’re in the process of repotting/resetting some selected varieties into new terracotta pots. Trying to say goodbye to 100mm plastic nursery pots that we did use while still selling.😢 Moving on to terracotta pots as we’re now keeping them.

We hope all the plants you have purchased from us are still happy and been bringing a smile in your garden all the time.

Happy gardening!!!🙂🪴👩‍🌾

Kindest regards,

Colours of Spring

Although the business-side has ceased, our love for succulents never ends. So, you’ll still see us posting succulent images and recent projects here.

These plants are left in the open, exposed to natural elements the entire winter. To keep them short, healthy and happy; we reset them annually(eg. cut-and-replant, medium change/succulent mix). And, just add a 6month slow-release Osmocote succulent fertiliser once a year(based on the recommended ratio of 1teaspoon per 100mm pot).

A full sun exposure and cold weather during winter makes most succulents to look at their best; bring out their best colours. For stimulating succulents growth and good looks, the best color temperature is 6500k. If you want your plant to bloom, a 3000k light is better. So, if using LED grow lights indoor, you are looking at this light spectrum. Red light is known to be the most effective light spectrum to encourage photosynthesis as it's highly absorbed by chlorophyll pigments. In other words, it sits in the peaks in chlorophyll absorption.
