A hanging light or series of hanging lights can be a great way to anchor a room within a room. They can also create a sense of intimacy within a space with soaring ceilings. Domed hanging lights over a dining table for example can direct light beautifully onto the serving area, without negating the ambience of dimmed light in the surrounding space.

Stepping inside this modern-built Blue Mountains weather board, you are immediately met with a beautiful, spacious floorplan that capitalises on picturesque views of the adjoining golf course. Our Wentworth Falls client approached Thornton & Blake Interior Designer Fiona Harding with a brief of light, bright and feminine, with a heavy touch of glam for the family of girls and two very loved felines to enjoy. Drawing on a Gia Coppola print of Sunset Boulevarde for inspiration, the interior design centres around a Palm Springs palette of fresh, soft pastels with metallic notes. With the soft, feminine and elegant brief in mind, it was also important that the soft finishes chosen for the home were hardwearing, easy clean and forgiving of the high use these living spaces endure. This Lower Mountains client is living in a 50s Dream. They approached our Colour Specialist Ellisha for some help with a dreamy and ultra fun colour palette that would explore classic 1950s retro design to bring to life their very 1950s Fibro home. Here’s what they used: Warm Pinks in Dulux Raspberry Macaroon & Strawberry Surprise, with Ultra Saturated Greens in Dulux Molly Robbins & Peppermint Bar. The Kitchen was refreshed with Dulux Coral Blossom. Then a touch of New Love - Lavender colour in living room. Vivid White offers a fresh breaker to accentuate the saturation of colours.

The brief for this Wentworth Falls kitchen design required a complete transformation —taking an awkward, cramped and dark timber kitchen with no connection to the living spaces, transforming the space into one that felt open, warm, and genuinely welcoming while capitalising on natural light. During their briefing, our clients shared their vision of a bright country-style kitchen where they could cook, gather, and move freely—quite literally. Their favourite outcome?
